So here I am again, attempting to get in as a transfer from HCC.

Since my last application, my GPA has risen which I believe is what UT really looks at.

This past Spring, I applied for Fall 2010 with what my CC had calculated as a 3.57 and I was denied. I found out that UT had calculated my F's and in their eyes, I had a mere 3.26 even after taking 28 hours to boost my GPA.

So I took two summer courses and made A's and now I have a 3.33. I am taking 17 hours this fall and hope to bring it up to around a 3.5.

What are my chances with a 3.4-5 and 73 hours? Do I need to rewrite my essays if my major is still the same?

Yea it happened to me too. My GPA was 3.544 in my college but they calculated it at 3.31 (i have no idea how, i didn’t even have any Fs or anything like that)…I’ve raised it to 3.595 now and even if they convert it, it should be way above 3.31 I hope. Do they count AP in the total # of hours or is it just the college credit hours counted?

I think they didn’t count one of the classes I got an A in and for a Pass/No Pass class, they counted my grade as a C even though that class is **only ** offered as a Pass/No Pass class…that’s the only way I could see my gpa go that low. And since I’m on the quarter system I think they counted my 2 unit as 1 credit, 4 and 5 units as 3 credits although the conversion should be 1 unit = 0.677 credit hour

P.S I know they calculated it as 3.31 because I asked them why I didn’t get in

by the way, aridnepenthe what do you mean they cacluated your F’s, did you retake those courses and got better grades but UT still counted them, because im thinking about redoing a course before i transfer but if UT is still going to count it in my gpa then theres really no point
