Official Spring 2012 Cornell Transfer Thread

hahah painfully obvious, you’re right.

How about an Admissions Decision App? Daily notifications such as “As if…”, “Who do you think you’re kidding?”, and “Of course not today.”

noidiot@

what ?

Lmao, sorry about the confusion:) @deadhead you are really creative and thinking out of the box!!! Best of luck for the coming week!

Okay everyone, it’s Monday. Here’s to the mail! Fingers crossed!

I’ll probably get a rejection in March lol - good luck to everyone

Sup guys~ how many of you got accepted to CALS so far?

I am sorry to say this, but if you haven’t heard anything from cornell CALS yet, then you are rejected. It’s a little mean thing to say this, but I am letting you guys get over with this, b.c I know a lot of u are suffering from wait.wait.wait. waiting right in fron t of ur mailbox.

So, Idk about other colleges (i.e ILR, CAS, or HE) but CALS applicants! who didn’t receive anything so far. you should move on and prepare for fall 2012 transfer hopefully!

Oh ok, let me believe you.

Just called CALS, they told me we should be hearing back anytime from now until mid-december via e-mail or snail mail.

@gmankiw, what made you come to this conclusion? Just really curious.

People have been asking: My son was accepted via a phone call from Ian (Admissions in ILR School) this past Friday. My son is in his 2nd year at U of Virginia. He is very psyched to be heading to Cornell (back in NY State). We’re from Western New York. Good luck to all Spring Transfer hopefuls. As a parent, I know how tough this waiting game is.

Hey guys,

Am applying for admission to CALS for Spring 2012. What would would you say my chances are?

Current school: Villanova University
GPA: 3.81
Extracurriculars: Varsity tennis freshman and sophomore year, Committee Member for Special Olympics Fall Festival (largest student run special olympics event in the world)
Planning on majoring in government and Italian at Cornell
Very good recommendation from my English professor (of course, this is speculation since I haven’t seen it, but I remain optimistic nonetheless)

High School:
SATs- 620 Writing, 600 Reading, 600 Math (not great, I know)
GPA- don’t remember exactly, but I probably ended up with around a 3.5 or 3.6
Executive Council member (student government) junior and senior year
National Honor Society
Varsity Tennis all four years (several athletic accolades that I won’t go into)
Western Athletic Leadership Council
Key Club (Elected Vice President my Junior year)

I know these lists of accomplishments get kind of boring and dull after a while, but I’m just very anxious about hearing back. Hopefully I haven’t portrayed myself as an arrogant prick.

Good luck to everyone!

@cjw, congrats to your son! Did he get an e-mail as well? And do you mind to let us know his stats?
@apreve1, pretty nice stats there esp. your EC’s, and I guess you need not worry much about your SAT’s if you’re already a sophomore. With that in mind, I say you have around a 60-70% chance. Good luck!
