Official Spring 2012 Cornell Transfer Thread

4 tests this week have kept me “busy” lol. My application was forwarded for review on October 12th. Do you guys think this mean I’ll hear back sooner?

Mine was processed on Oct 14th and I guess the earliest one who being admitted would be coming out next week

Don’t know if anyone saw this but on Admissions.Cornell.edu > News it says the following regarding Decision Notification for Spring Transfer:

October 24th, 2011

“Cornell University will announce admissions decisions from mid-November through mid-December on a rolling basis. Decision Notification for Spring 2011 Transfer Applicants”

does that mean there are a little bit more applicants for spring than before so they have to extend the notification date?

Ahh. I can’t wait. So will we receive an email confirmation?

@zchlafen, the way I see it, like I said before, is I just think they’re covering themselves agains’t people who don’t get notified on a certain day and keep calling them up. Don’t forget that you also have people who mail things late (i.e. midterm reports) that can extend the notification period.

yeah that makes sense. somebody’s gonna get the email next week.

@800now, yes it will be an email first then an envelope in your mailbox.

Hi guys this this my first post in CC. I am applying to CALS for bio & soc major. I was looking at last year’s thread on the spring transfers to Cornell and a good majority of them got their decisions in early November. Hopefully it will be soon. Good luck to you all!!

I am just taking midterms now, so I haven’t sent in my report yet. Should I be worried?

oh that should be fine. I checked the '10 spring transfer thread, someone submitted midterm report on around Oct 28th and got admitted on around Nov 10th

That 2010 Spring threat was a tight group, no? lol They all seemed like best buds ha

lol yeah they updated the thread every minutes

And it seemed like a lot of them were accepted too. But honestly. who can trust the validity of anyone’s comments on a message board?

well at least trusting them makes me feel the chance of getting in is not so bad

i havent sent in my midterm report either. just got my grades this week so i’ll be sending it in early next week. but admissions said that midterm reports dont hold up your app :)

When I spoke to admissions they made it sound like they won’t make a decision without your midterm report? If that is the case then submitting it late would hold up your app, no?

Also, if you check last years Spring transfer thread must people heard back mid November to the first week in December. ILR in particular seemed to release most decisions in early December.

Anyone have their interview yet?

i Just got an email from admission office, saying that they need me to send my official AP scores, confirming that I got 5 on BC calc and stats.

I didn’t know that I needed my official ap scores (from collegeboard) to be sent. I had these scores on my transcript (both hs and college), i thought that was enough.

Do you think it’s a good sign of that they’re interested in me? I mean, if they were rejecting me, they probably wouldn’t require my official AP scores, right?

Has anyone got this, too?

@gmankiw What college/major did you apply to? If Calc and Stats are needed for the major or are included in the transfer requirements I guess they want to verify the scores as you could potentially place out of some requirements?

I self reported 7 AP scores on my application but I haven’t heard anything
