Official Spring 2012 Cornell Transfer Thread

I definitely don’t want to get all excited and then receive a rejection letter. No @zchlafen, I’m not a GT but I do go to one of the colleges that have an agreement so I don’t know if that helped. I just don’t know I do not want to be excited for nothing you know? But hey there were several people who could not access housing even after they were admitted. So no need to stress it. I’m sure with the stats you guys have you all have a pretty great shot.

And if it helps I submitted my application in early august but my midterm just a few days ago.

@NYCmaria, Congratz! You have every right to get all exited. I must say they are pretty efficient this semester.

@NYCmaria, email’s coming soon but yeah it’s not yet too get excited. The agreement may help a lot, unfortunately umich doesn’t have an agreement with cornell…

Omg… I tried to log in the housing portal as well… and… I got the same message. “Either your session has timed out or you are not currently logged in”. Damn it.

My file, according to the email that admission office sent me, was forwarded for a review about 2 weeks ago. I think the admission office reviewed my files for last 2 weeks and decided to reject me… sniff sniff… so sad.

cheer up gmankiw, your file is still processing and god knows how lazy the admissions are because they said the review would last approximately 4-6 weeks

I know my friend last semester who applied for the Fall 2011 semester was able to access housing was REJECTED.

omg that’s so terrible

Yeah it was, we both thought he was accepted BECAUSE of threads that preached the “accepted into housing = acceptance in school” mentality. It’s wrong. We do not know how the admissions committee operates, therefore, I think it is unwise to turn speculation into fact. Correlation does not equal causation.

which college did he apply for?

Cals > aem

I agree with @deadhead654, completely. We will only know of our fate from the email/letter we receive…tuesday is nov 1, so we should know sooner than later.

Good that somebody speaks up! This has to stop. I first went through emotional ups and downs because of the previous posts about logging in, and I do not hope to see applicants getting misled in the future.

y’all are freaking me out. lets all stay positive and calm… at least for the next couple weeks

If I haven’t taken midterms yet…and not sent in my midterm report, could that make Cornell reject me?

@800now I wasn’t sure either, so I called and was told that I could submit my most current grades. Shame I submitted grades checked on days like Aug 31 and Sept 6.-_-
You’d want to call the Admissions Office to figure out, however.

let’s see anybody can hear anything this week

Midterm reports have a Nov 1st deadline & can be faxed.

Hey guys,

I am just confused about the midterm grades. I am still getting back midterm grades for some courses (I don’t even have any graded items before the midterms). I called and a counselor told me that it would be okay if I fax it in within the next to week, but based on what I read here and what their website says, I am just confused. She did say, “the midterm report isn’t needed for a decision, but it is required.” HMMMM
