Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

Has anyone been asked to send the mid-term report?
Im still waiting for my result…

Would the admissions officers start reviewing our application regardless of our mid-term report and give a decision?

They will start reviewing your application without the mid-term report, but they will not make a decision without it. So, you should send it in the latest by mid-November. Make sure they know that you will be late sending it in, if you send it after the end of the month, and fax it in asap.

Good luck Bet2626! What college and major are you applying to?

Good luck! what jpapas said is important though^

Also* Your academic stats looks great*

I plan on going pre-med, so i’m thinking CALS??

You’re thinking? Are you applying for Spring 2014? For CALS admission, your stats are looking good.

I’m honestly not completely sure. I’m applying for Fall 2014 admissions and am not 100% sure whether CAS or CALS would be better for the pre-med path.

CALS offers a higher transfer acceptance rate than CAS. Make sure you have a look at their course requirements and complete them in time. Again, good luck with Cornell!

Does anyone know where to download the midterm report form? It’s not on Common App or Cornell Transfer’s site

You can find it in your Common Application account. I believe it’s under Assign Recommenders and it says Additional Forms on the bottom.

^ it’s on the bottom of the page on either the common or the cornell supplement part I forgot which. If no one tells u by tonight I’ll check when I’m home.

Yep Jpapas is right,
Go to common app website,
go to cornell,
go to assign recommenders,
go to additional forms near the bottom,
and theres the mid term report.

@Bet2626, I am also at the U of M right now! I am applying for ILR so maybe we can leave minnesota for new york together next semester!
And I just turned in my Mid term report today so we’ll see.

I also applied to Cornell spring 2014 Transfer
Currently at Upenn right now as a first semester freshman
Current expected GPA: 4.0
High school Gpa: 100.2 (2/450)
I did however get 2 70’s in my senior year due to lack of trying which brought it down from 102.4
SAT: 2340

Upenn is great but i would like to live in NY and closer to home where i can frequently go from my dorm to my house with a 2 hour drive or so.

Really hope i get it in.
Do you think cornell would look down upon bad senior grades?

^I think it really comes down to if you showed good reason and “fit” for transferring to Cornell especially since you’re transferring from Upenn(a great school) after 1 semester.
I’ll also say that my high school grades in their entirety were terrible- around a 3.0. But hopefully my essays and 4.0 college gpa outweigh that, as I have received the vibe that it definitely does if you show good “fit.”

@Matthew10 Good Luck! I agree with Nostalgia

I am quite anxious now :]
