***Official Stanford 2013 SCEA Decisions****

Baelor WORK on your EAGLE… trust me it’s as rewarding as getting into Stanford.

can ppl stop posting these acceptance letters? it hurts for the ppl who got reject/deferred

I, for one, like looking at the acceptance letters. It’s like I’m living vicariously through the accepted people haha.

This is honestly, to some degree, getting lucky.

its called self deception

Rejected T.T

Congrats to all of you who got in though!

Accepted!!!
OOH MY GOD

1980 SAT
29 Act

more to come

Deferred.
Thank you early indecision.
 At least we can all move on now.

That’s touching…not. “Oh no, I’m not going to get in, the world’s going to end!” to this…not really cool.

Since this needs references, here is a good example.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1061417978-post33.html

And to clarify, this isn’t being sore about rejection in general. Its being sore about his behavior then and now.

1980 SAT?!?!

How did you pull that off? o.O

Obviously URM, legacy, or athlete.

urm and quasi first gen

29ACT falls within the middle 50% btw
^^^

Stanford’s average is only 31

Rejected

SAT I: 2300
SATII: 780, 800, 800
No rank

work to get into Stanford=7 years
number rejected:20000
work*rejected=140000 years of human life invested just to be rejected

All to go to a school, which though nice, offers an education marginally better than competitors who would have required 1/10th the effort to get in.

Decision: Accepted

General Comments: I guess I was one of the lucky people… I want to say congratulations to all of you who were accepted, and to those of you deferred/rejected, don’t lose hope! You’re gonna go somewhere amazing.

“Why did you cross out harmless links and phone numbers, and not your name?”

My name is crossed off, I don’t know what you’re talking about. :stuck_out_tongue: Honestly, I missed it when I posted.

“can ppl stop posting these acceptance letters? it hurts for the ppl who got reject/deferred”

Someone asked, and I think we all posted at the same time.

Look, this admissions is a crapshoot. I got accepted by chance. Seriously. Considering some of these other applicants with the same stats who have gone through many more hardships than I have, I realize how this random this process is. I didn’t fully understand until now. I love you all

I would argue that random doesn’t begin to describe it

hey everyone, i’m a visitor from the yale forum, and i just wanted to say how humbled i am by these results. it seems like EVERYONE on this thread had amazing stats/ECs/pretty much everything…i really can’t see much of a difference between the quality of the candidates accepted and those rejected.

until now, i thought of myself as having a pretty decent shot at yale, but this thread really put the competitiveness of this year’s applicant pool in context for me…so thank you, for that. you’re all amazing students–my best wishes to everyone, whether you were accepted or not!!
