@ermsypermsy I think they should start mailing this Friday or beginning of next week from Oberlin.
I had to be kinda ambitious because I need quite big financial aid and I’m an international so any state university or less prestigious college wouldn’t give me the money I need.

Universities seldom send out decisions on a Sunday. The Ivies and Cal are releasing their answers on Friday, March 29. I am pretty confident Stanford will too.

Wahhh! Next week is going to be really hectic, then. Hopefully in a good way.
I had a similar mindset with applications-- I’m not international, but I only applied to out-of-state schools, so I had to make sure to apply to a lot of them (12) in hopes of getting good aid somewhere.

(March 29 is a Thursday, not a Friday, unfortunately)

Hopefully decisions come out before I lose all my fingernails to anxious biting :O

I willing to bet bragging rights that they will come out on Friday. Anyhow, the EA admits are preparing a little surprise for those of you accepted :)

Anxiety levels are definitely going up now that some college decisions have come back! How are you all holding up?

Stanford is my dream school. it is such a long shot though. i am dying waiting for the end of next week! i bet i’m not the only one (:

Update: Regular Decision Application Decisions
March 13, 2012

We are still on schedule to release all freshman admission decisions by Sunday, April 1 after 3pm (Pacific Time). All admission decisions will be sent via email from admission@stanford.edu and will be signed by Richard Shaw, Dean of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid. Decisions will not be posted on any Stanford website and only applicants offered admission will be sent any information by mail. Admitted students will be mailed a packet of materials (including their official offer of admission letter). All other decisions will be sent to students via email — including those students offered a space on our waiting list. All admission decisions will be final and given the highly selective nature of our process, we cannot consider any appeals whatsoever. We never, ever reverse an admission decision once it has been officially rendered.

Director of Admission

So the acceptance letters will arrive BY April 1st or mail on April 1st? I’m confused.

Also, this means I’m going to be terrified of my email inbox…

They can’t mail anything on Sunday, so they’ll most likely send the letters out on Monday.

Decisions must be released by all schools by April 1st, so they will not wait until April 2nd.

^decisions, yes. What I meant to say was that the email will be sent out on Sunday and they’ll mail the letters Monday. They can’t do Saturday because it may get to some people earlier than 3:00 Sunday, which would be unfair.
I could be wrong, though–just a speculation based on what other schools do.

hi everyone…
this thread is officially calming me down, so I decided to post something too!
It’s nice to see people who share my feelings of “OMG AM I GOING TO BE ACCEPTED???”, because I am brazilian and go to a german school, so none of my friends are applying and most of them can’t really imagine how crazy life can get a few tiny days before the results come in!!!

Usually Stanford likes doing things early and comes out before Ivies, and Ivy Day is Thursday… so I doubt it’ll be April 1. They said “by” not “on”. Just speculation though! Good luck :)

well anyway less than a week till rejection day. But it doesn’t really matter because I just made a filter in my email to delete all mail from Stanford.

lol I’m so negative.

awww busterbeetle, hang in there! don’t call it rejection day. if you get rejected, then you can say that. but until you get the email, you shouldn’t be so down on yourself. we’re all in the same boat and unless I misjudge things, you have just as much chance as any of us! who knows!?, maybe you’ll get a giant fat envelope in the mail!

enjoy the wait. our futures are hanging in limbo, and I personally kinda like the mystery. :)

LOL thanks. Good luck to you too!

I feel like I’ve been waiting so long…deferred scea, so I applied back in Oct. I am almost positive I got a courtesy deferral because of legacy. If I get a courtesy wait list, I’m going to be seriously bummed. Of course I’d LOVE an acceptance, but how much limbo can a guy take? I want to be the guy on the results page that has the DEFERRED>ACCEPTED to give all the class of 2017-ers hope!

I wish they’d just tell us officially when they’re posting results!

^Newtocollege, ahh, same for me! It’s so hard to believe that it’s next week; I feel like we’ve waited so long, too! Good luck
Wouldn’t it be a story, if it was: deferred>waitlisted>accepted? haha

Do you guys think that everyones decisions are finalized already?
