***Official Stanford RD 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread***

OH MY GOODNESS. Okay, thank God for that confirmation. My prayers are for what’s best for everyone!!!

I agree! Thank you sebo and hong!
Good luck to everyone! So anxious now!

Best wishes to all you guys. Whether you get in or not, maintain a positive attitude - that alone will ultimately take you much farther than a prestigious school name ever will. I was crushed after what happened yesterday with the Ivies, so I’m not expecting much here. I’m slowly but surely warming up to the idea of attending my safety (McGill), which actually isn’t even a bad deal at all.

i agree with whoever said that thing about harvard sending their emails ludicroously late. Last night i just gave up on waiting for them and went to bed, and this morning i had my rejection letter that i had recieved at 1:58 AM. that is 9 friggin hours after they said they would release.

(the rejection wasnt such a blow, i got into Cornell, Upenn, and Princeton yesterday, so harvard can suck it)

I didn’t have school today, as spring break starts next week, and today was a ‘senior day’ that us seniors got because we had to go in on a Saturday a few weeks ago for part of our senior seminar course.

This has actually made it worse, as if I’d been at school, at least I’d have been keeping busy until close to the decision release.

My twin brother didn’t apply to Stanford, and he’s already decided where he’s going, so he’s enjoying his ‘senior day’. I’m not.

Roll on 3pm.

Worst part is…I have to work at 6. :(

I have a job interview at 3:20 pm. I’m going to force myself to turn off my phone at 2:50 pm so I don’t see the email notification when it comes in. The timing couldn’t be worse!

Starting to get those nervous tummy flips!

In my REA, it took about 2 hours? when most of my friends got it a couple minutes after they released it.

I still can’t believe it’s coming so soon!

@callmesarahhh good luck on your interview!

I’m about to leave for work right now too. This is my last post before decisions come out… good luck everyone. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Well said.

Just called Stanford, it is confirmed to be 3PM Pacific today!!! eeeeeee

I think I’m going to log off my computer and try and keep busy for the next hour and a half.

I’m just tormenting myself at the moment.

Will log back on a bit later.

Good luck all.

may the lord have mercy on me for I fear Stanford shall not…

chances of winning the mega million lottery: 1 in 176,000,000
chances of getting into stanford: 1 in 175,999,999

Hoping its my lucky today! Good luck to all!

Ahhhhh!! Last decision. Crossing my fingers!

ONE HOUR! Going to work now. :p

Good Luck Everyone! S2 is probably at his Catholic HS giving public hekatombs to Zeus and Athena, in anxious anticipation of racing home to the laptop. What an Odyssey this admission process has been!

Crazy. I’m so nervous even though I have a great school I’d take over Stanford (Yale).

You feel like you’re being personally judged and scrutinized yet its paradoxically also a remarkably arbitrary process.
