When is the RD notification date?

April 1st.

Hi, I’m new to the board. I am also awaiting word from Stanford though I don’t think my chances are very high for one of their PhD programs. I realized I had no idea what I was doing and before I knew it, I had to rush to do the GRE (and did poorly). I am hoping that having good recommendations, what I believe were good writing samples, and a M.S. already (with a 4.0 GPA), would show I am capable of doing good work. Anyways, I wish everyone luck!

@laodicean: Thank you!

Maybe it’s easier to think of the fact that they’re running a business out in Palo Alto. Stanford has created a great brand and commodity product under the banner of higher education. I’m not sure there is room for prayer in their board room - but go for it!

Did anyone get any sort of decision yet?

Someone I heard of, international, claims that he got a rejection already.

wow, so according to earlier posts we have only about a week and a half to go! O.O

April 1st you guys

“Congratulations, you have been accepted into the incoming freshman class of 2016!”

Next email: “April Fools”

I think that if I get rejected, I’m going to pretend that it’s some mean April fools joke.

@smewshie: I thought of something similar - I was just worrying that I would receive a letter of acceptance followed by “Nah, we’re just kidding. You’ve been rejected.” That’d be mean. =)

So according to an announcement posted yesterday on the admission.stanford.edu e-mail decisions will be sent to all applicants on April 1st after 3PM Pacific time.

Are they really going to send thousands of e-mails on Sunday? I don’t mind at all, it just seems strange to me. But whatever. :)

^well I just read it and they said they are on schedule to release them by April 1st after 3, so I think it is still possible for them to come out earlier! I’m hoping anyways!

I thought Stanford always came out the Friday before April 1st! I don’t think I can wait any longer Oh well… let’s hope the wait is worth it!!

How unfunny/funny(?) would it be if everyone who got in got a rejection letter, and everyone who didn’t get in got an acceptance letter…then on April 2nd, everyone got an “April fools!” letter.

It would be extremely “unfunny”. Extremely disappointing to both groups when they actually find out.

No college could be that cruel :P

Ugh I’ll be on vacation then… poorly planned.

I actually think sunday is a better day than weekdays. lol

They always send it early…it should be thursday the 29th or friday the 30th

it’s kind of unreal how close the decisions are now… kind of a really big deal. this is so discombobulating.
