Yeah seriously dude. I’d kill (not really) to be fluent in Spanish and something else. I’m pretty good with Spanish (talking) I traveled to Honduras to translate for a NPO. BUT, I totally failed the SAT subject test haha

what languages do you know fledgling? that’s really cool and theres no way thats common

Well, I was raised bilingual (English and Mandarin), but now also speak French, Spanish, and German, in part through lessons/self study and in part through immersion and traveling and living abroad. Scored 5’s on the AP’s in English, Chinese, French, and Spanish, and I’m going for AP German this year. My newest project is Latin, since I plan to double major in linguistics and classics in college.

Speaking of Latin, the textbook I recently ordered from Amazon for self-study purposes should be arriving any day now…

Holy… Fledgling, you are amazing. Do you have an innate gift?

No way lol. Language (imo) is merely a product of a person’s environment. I’m merely interested in languages and seek out opportunities on my own… that’s all there is to it :o

I wish you all luck :P

(REA 2014, neva forget!)

^ Thanks! :)

i was at an info session at stanford over the summer and the admissions officer said that uploading a resume in the additional documents section would be a great idea, so i did. gr…

So I decided a few weeks ago to throw my EA bid in at Yale (despite my father’s protests). My desire to stay on the East Coast superseded my legacy status at S; in any case good luck to you REAers.

^ Awww. Good luck Jersey! I have a feeling you’ll fare well. :)

Zwei Jahre.

oh BTW, we better stop this. Rules of CC xD

A sidenote: I loved the BBC commentary during Ger v. Arg
“eins, zwei, drei, and now they’ve struck vier (pronounced fear)”

Ach so! >.< Aber das ist ja richtig…

Back to English now, lol :p

:p

I’m thinking of learning French and Sanskrit next xD

^ Cool! Which ones do you already know? :)

well… Nepali is my mother tongue. That almost (plus Indian movies) makes me fluent in Hindi too. And I know German.

^ Wow! You’re pretty impressive yourself :)

@ kaira07 and others: This is what I meant when I said multilingualism was pretty common… XD
