*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

^ haha that’s cool, as long as you didn’t take a gap year just because you weren’t accepted to stanford…

On the topic of admissions numbers: I think we should conclude that they’re troublesomely low, and leave it at that…

@ripemango

I took a gap year, primarily, because I was under the British system, and my results weren’t out yet :p

@wulfran
yeah, sure :p

Me too. :-/ Good luck to us all

sees on the Common App status page that my application was already downloaded; feels apprehensive

Agh, I didn’t know you could view that! @_@ Now I know that once I’ve submitted everything, I’m going to be checking it compulsively…

^ You can… go to the “My Colleges” area and check the Stanford tab. I always feel scared whenever I see the “Downloaded: (date)” blurb.

^

It’s kind of fun to see that xD
But I’ll submit my application on Oct 30ish… keeping time to make changes up until the last moment. :D

^ haha me too! My essays could use some improvement. Didn’t know that so many people already submitted! Lol @ fledgling :)

^ But it is scary… :p

i think it’s a bad thing i’m starting my supplement essays now…

^ good luck. I’m done with Q2… 2 more to go… lol

can we try to discuss the meaning of the intellectual vitality essay?

I have finished my supplemental essays. Just hope that they will work out well…

yeah same finally thank god for columbus day

I’m in a panic to do all my essays…I have drafts of them but they all need major refinement @-@

^ Good luck! :)

Hey…I’m new here. This is actually my first post (although I have been semi-stalking this site for a long time >< )! :)

For the roommate supplemental essay, do we just write about our habits? Like, quirky rituals, etc? What are you guys writing about? (If you couldn’t tell, I’m really confused about this one…)

Ughhhhh I got so excited when I received the confirmation email from Stanford just an hour ago, saying that they got my application… the reality of the fact that I’ll be hearing back from them in December is only just starting to sink in :p

@ OpalDragon: You can talk about yourself. Basically, what would you like your future roommate to know about you?

@ fledgling: Haha, yeah, I know that is what the prompt says, but I meant what is Stanford really looking for? Because there are so many different aspects that I could talk about… :</p>
