^ Very nice. I hope you get into at least one of your top choices!

Thank you! I wish the best luck to all of us with this hair-pulling process!

@nerdess

They say Dec 15th, but they release it around 13th. Earlier notification for early action students. xD

PS: Congrats on post #100

@Quandary and the fishy (punnyâŠkneeslaps) essay,

If you can pull it off, go for it! They always like the risky essays (granted, you can pull it off) moreso than mundane ones. :)

And just a heads-up (though itâs obvious), âWhy Stanfordâ essay portion is given the most emphasis among the supp. essays. So spend lots of time on it!

Really? checks calendar The 13th of December would be a⊠Monday.

Ugh⊠if I got rejected, this would go down in my book as the worst Monday yet! I wasnât a huge fan of Mondays to begin withâŠ

@sarbaraj101
Really? My email also said the Dean would contact us via email after 3pm Pacific Time on the 15thâŠ
If it comes earlier, umm. Weâll see. HAHA. If we get it, WOOO if we donât, then aww.
But I did hear of certain cases which the universities would contact the super-duper applicants with a pre-acceptance confirmation email regarding their acceptances (that sounds confusing but essentially, a indication that youâd get in) prior to the official release date. But Iâve never heard of a real case of such scenario.
But letâs just keep that in mind?
Date doesnât really matter to me though xD

I believe you are referring to âlikely lettersâ, and yes, they do exist. Unfortunately since weâre already applying REA, Stanford isnât going to issue any of those to us Itâs moreso for the RD round⊠they generally get distributed around January/February. Look in the Yale forum here on CC for more detailsâŠ

@fledgling

itâs been so for the past two years⊠donât know what happened before that though.

REA likely, if it did exist, would have been awesome! :D

^ Indeed Unfortunately even though Iâve already submitted my Common App/supplements/application fee, my other teacher whoâs writing me a recommendation has yet to finish his letter and my counselor has yet to send off my transcripts. :(

^

My teachers are done with the recos, my GC is still with the transcripts (has a quite a few students to work on - SR done, others remain). And my app. Iâm done with Draft 2 CA Essay. 1 Supplement done, 2 remain.

^ Ah, I see. I personally think the mandatory essays are the toughest component, so Iâm glad I got them out of the way :)

I turned everything in by Oct. 3rd, but they have yet to receive my recommendation letters (which were the first things I submitted, tooâŠ)

Oh my, they (the likely letters) do exist? Interesting haha, I donât need that. Just a regular âyouâre-inâ would be nice. :D

^ Youâre lucky. I think I might have to send my teacher a reminder in a weekâs time that the REA deadline for his recommendation is November 1st⊠Iâm going into the counseling office with the Secondary School Report forms on Monday (with my portion filled out) and stamped/addressed envelopes.

Thankfully my school does everything online (but my L of Râs were still hand-mailed) so I didnât have to bother the counselors :]

But Stanford said they wonât penalize us for late mails so long as they confirm the arrival by Nov. 17th or so!

^ Oh, okay. Thatâs good to hear :)

On average, how much time did you guys spend on the main common app essay/common app activities essay/supplements? Iâm curious to know.

^
Commonapp essay : Around 2 weeks.
Supp #2 : 2 Days (This was kinda easy for me)
Supp #3 will also be easy, I hope :p

I think I will take a lot of time for Supp #1 (still not decided what to write about)

Are you having lots of people revise them? or are you just going by instinct?

^
1 friend, and my GC. Thatâs about it.
