@ abelinkin60: Somebody had that same problem earlier. He then tried switching his browser from Google Chrome to Firefox, and it worked. I don’t know if your problem is any similar.

Internet Explorer and Safari also works if you don’t already have Firefox.

It’s just because Chrome (and AOL browser) isn’t supported by Common App, so things like that happen. :/

“How long did it take after you submitted your application for Stanford to email your account info for axess?”
I would actually like to know this too.

i got an email from axess about 5 business days after i submitted my application.

but i didn’t get any account info? i just submitted my address on the guest login thing and received an email telling me what i still needed to submit.

Copy and pasting on Safari didn’t work for me "/ had to retype everything…

Thanks! solved my problem

Ahh this wait is already killing me!! I’m trying to pretend that I’ve already been rejected so that way I feel more motivated to write other supplements (so far, this strategy isn’t working -__-)

^^^^ Don’t think that way, be confident in yourself! I know the odds suck but don’t let them deter you from doing your best on your applications. These essays are meant to challenge you, not BEAT you! After your done, you can forget about it until decision time but for now do your best! Its really all you can do.

I actually think Reeny has a good approach. C’mon, people – a 6% admit rate, the vast majority of people with 800 on any SAT section rejected, etc. It is a great dream that will come true for a few of us, but most of use will end up elsewhere … and we’ll be happy there!
Anyone watch any of Stanford-USC? What a crazy, crazy game – holy cow! And I didn’t even watch to the end (exhausted after XC Sectionals).

I’d agree with Reeny too; I’d say it’s best to assume that you will be rejected so you can move on with your applications, and perhaps find another school you’ll love.
And yeah, realistically, most of us aren’t going to Stanford; but we’ll be happy at other places!

guys
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1233996-chance-dream-school-stanford-ivies-top-lacs-pretty-please.html

reading these threads is making me depressed. ah Stanford…

Well, once we get there (if we get there), I hope we can all be happy! But seriously, I am sure that I will be happy at any school that I end up at, and I am sure that all of you guys will be too. :)

I won’t be happy anywhere else besides Stanford.

Yes, mba8inAZ, the Stanford - USC game was amazing! Can’t wait to see how their season plays out. In the unlikely event I get admitted, I will be at every Stanford football game.

^ yes! i watched that entire last quarter/ot. i was rooting for luck all the way.

@StanfordCS Yes you will.

Oh trust me, I won’t.

I have a question about SAT score reporting. Is it too late for me to send my SAT scores in today via regular score reporting service through collegeboard (not rush delivery)? I’m scared that it’ll affect my chances of being admitted.

*Edit: I’m doing REA.

Did you guys follow the 2 line suggestion for short answers? Or did you go by the character count? (Especially the “Favorite (books/magazines/websites)” question…anything but a list looks strange, and that’s def +2 lines)

^ I followed the 2 line suggestion. I did a list too, and I had no problem making it within 2 lines. It seemed more like a direction than a suggestion to me though.

@Kunichanx3 Unfortunately, I don’t think it’ll reach Stanford in time for the Nov. 1 deadline. ): I’m actually not sure if even Rush Delivery would make it on time. I’m not sure how lenient Stanford is when it comes to that though, so I made sure to send my materials in early.

EDIT: Found this post.
“I actually contacted Stanford for the same question. The admissions office basically said that there is no concrete deadline for anything out of your control (counselor recs, transcripts, SAT scores, etc.) but what is in your control needs to be submitted by the deadline. So basically the common app and your supplement needs to be submitted by November 1st.”

So, it might be okay? I’d just call Stanford yourself and confirm.
