So they might release later than Friday is what I am taking from that if they are still in committee.

Estamos locos.

Haha, phone on!

@dapotatoman, that’s what I’m thinking. I don’t know if the lady is telling the truth or not, about still being in the committee process.

I think we’re all getting paranoid now by questioning whether the lady is telling the truth or not. Lol?

45.5 hours (possibly)

Oh I asked her “Stanford for the past couple of years has released decisions the Friday before their deadline, will that continue this year?” She said “The dean has not informed us of the exact date of when they will be released.”

its gonna be friday

Oh my gosh, I got my hopes up for this friday; now it looks like we were wrong about the friday release. =/ What is life

@jdlace - what makes you say that?

Even if they are still in committee, if they finish tomorrow or even mid-day Friday, we could still be told on Friday.

Yeah. As we saw in 2009, they announced it around 2 PM PST. Talk about last minute…

@StanfordCS, I think it’s time to stop calling. There’s no reason for that lady to tell some random caller the truth about what’s happening in admissions. I bet you can (and probably will) call until Thursday night/Friday morning and they’ll be “in committee”. For all intents and purposes, Stanford admissions is ALWAYS in committee until decisions are released. Why would they tell us anything different?

I think they’ll release them on Friday. If not, we’ll wait until they do. Because right now, we are Stanford’s *****es.

@solemn, cuz it just has to be

@unsureonlife, we took that role once we sumbitted the application

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I looked on my stanford supplement and in one sentence I left out a word so the sentence doesn’t make sense D:

Nothing you can do at this point D:

Best to just move on…

@tsukiyami, im sure they will figure it out

@UnsureOnLife I’m with you. I would highly doubt that anyone we call at the admissions office would tell us that they ARE done reviewing applications, even if they were (I think they probably are still in committee). As soon as that word gets out, people will be calling nonstop asking when decisions will be released.

And maybe just to spite us all due to those who called (I’m looking at you StanfordCS.) (Okay, kidding), they won’t release them until the 15th, even if they are done haha.

@tsukiyami I made a few spelling typos (quite glaring, actually) in my roommate essay, because I had been doing a minor edit in Google Docs… and its spellcheck didn’t pick it up. That said, two people who I had review my essay just afterwards didn’t notice it (I had a few letters mixed up in each word), and, as adcoms review essays so quickly, I’d imagine that they, too, made the correction mentally while they were reading.

So, long story short, don’t worry about it. They understand the amount of stress we’re going through with this, and I highly doubt they’d reject you solely on that.

arghhh i’m going insane! on the bright side, it’s supposed to snow tonight. i’m praying for a snow day… the weather needs to be cold, NOW, enough with this october weather crap
