^Same LOL.

three weeeeeks
seems like an eternity! but at least I only have eight days of school in between then :P

20tigger17, I’d expect you probably aren’t getting an interview if you haven’t been contacted yet. I turned in my application on November 1st itself, and already had my interview over a week ago. In the interviewer’s email to me, he said that he needed to turn the report in by November 28, or some time around there (I forget the exact date), so I expect that you would’ve been contacted by now if you are getting an interview.

@Adodie, thanks for the information! Yeah, it sounds like I won’t get an interview oh well, that’s okay!

13-21 days! :)

My optional recommender received a letter in the mail from Stanford confirming that they received my letter just now. Did anyone else’s optional recommender receive this?

^no, but i’ll ask her on monday. did you get yours from a research mentor?

did my username inspire you? :p

Haha, Well didn’t Stanford say they weren’t going to confirm optional materials? Is a new thing this year?

@stantheman66 do you think they’d let us know in 13 days? its sounding like it going to be the 14th…hopefully they finish a week early though

hmmm… I want to ask my optional rec source if they got that letter…

The suspense is killing me…Does anyone know if there is a chance that decisions will be released earlier, just like they have the past couple years? A friend of mine who is also applying told me that it was unlikely because of the delay from the hurricane

SAT128, I doubt it since they said in the legacy letter that decisions would be released the 14th. I guess it is always a possibility, though. I mean, I certainly hope they release decisions early. xD

Okay, so this is bad. In the past, my time-killer has always been Facebook. I’ll endlessly click the “Home Page” every 5 minutes even when I know there won’t be anything new. At this point, my time-killer is morphing into College Confidential, particularly this thread, and I click it every 5 or so minutes. Goodness, I just can’t wait for the decisions.

So, I have a question to hopefully provoke some conversation: would you call your application well rounded or well lopsided? Is one part of your application particularly strong? For example, I am hoping some great EC’s I have make up for some decent (but low in terms of Stanford) standardized testing scores. What about all of you?

same for me on the time wasting Adodie haha.

I have two really strong ECs that hopefully will help out a couple Bs my freshman year

@Iman^

Luckily Stanford doesn’t consider freshman grades!

@cubanochico

Do they actually not consider freshman grades??

@Iman123194, yeah they don’t thankfully.

My ECs are decent but they’re all over the place since I have zero clue what I wanna do with my life. Kind of unfortunate since that’s an obvious “show passion” killer. :/

@iman

No, they don’t look at your freshman grades. So like when they ‘recalculate’ your UW GPA and such, they won’t take 9th grade into consideration. But obv they won’t try and figure out what your new class rank/percentile would be etc.

lol unfortunately 9th grade was my best year. Started out as rank 5/800 and am now 32/1125. My junior year killed me due to bad grades in spanish and calculus. Been having a great senior semester though, so I expect if I get deferred, atleast they’ll see my rank will be bumped to around the upper twenties (GPA from 4.37 to 4.4+ easily).

@Adodie

I’d say that I’m well rounded for the most part. My GPA and class rank are decent, albeit far from excellent. My standardized test scores - SAT, ACT, Subject Tests, and APs - are all pretty good, certainly nothing that could hurt me. I’m probably banking a little more on some unique ECs that I have, as well as some great essays. Oh and being a URM for sure

Hi Guys,
I have a slight problem with my Stanford application and was wondering what I should do. For my application, I designated that I was an AP Scholar with Distinction because I am (6 tests with 5 5’s). However, earlier today I realized that the certificate I received from the College board states that I’m an AP Scholar with Honor because my two tests are in separate accounts. I already know I am going to call the College Board tomorrow and have them fix it so I can properly receive the distinction, but should I call Stanford and tell them anything? I know the score report from the SAT has my distinction on it, so should I be worried they thought I lied on the application?
Thanks for your advice!

^It’s fine. You qualify for the award. Don’t worry. At least, I wouldn’t. Just call the college board and see if they can consolidate the accounts. If not, no biggie. They will see from your AP scores that you earned the award. It was an honest mistake.
