Official Stanford SCEA 2017 Applicants' Discussion Thread

They almost never come out on the day they are “supposed” to. Usually that date is the 14th/15th. Look at last year, clearly Stanford did not announce dec. 9 in advance.

Dec. 7 is earlier than all those days though, so idk. Maybe next Wed? Could still be the 7th. Or the 14th.

hey everyone!

I’ve been stalking this obsessively for a while now, but now i can’t help joining
i tried reading through last year’s scea discussion thread, but there are pages upon pages of posts on the day of (dec 9) so i ran out of patience
I’m sure they’d be having a similar conversation if you get to a couple days before though

@Holocene - December 7th is a bit earlier than all those dates, but December 14th is way later than all but 3 of them.

fridayfridayfridaypleasefriday.

Not comprehending any physics right now. She’s talking about the ap exam and I’m just like -_-

Friday huuurrryyy up. I literally have no idea how I would cope with waiting another week. My fingernails are already nubby.

Hi tonystark13. Welcome!

DEAR GOD GUYS I DIDN’T REALIZE I WAS SUPPOSED TO APPLY CCS BY NOVEMBER 15TH I THOUGHT THERE WAS ONLY FAFSA WHAT DO

(maybe I’ll get rejected and this won’t be a problem…)

(probably, actually…)

EDIT: WHAT IF I WERE TO EMAIL FINANCIAL AID AND ASK WHAT I SHOULD DO AND THEY REPLIED “WELL YOU DIDN’T GET IN SO NOTHING” OR “WELL I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL YOU THIS BUT YOU DID GET IN SO SUBMIT IT ASAP SO WE CAN AWARD YOU”

call them and ask!! and sneak in a question about when we find out

(:

its a different director of admission this year, idk if that might make a difference

@stress: I turned in my CSS a few days late and financial office told me that the CSS is used to give a rough estimate for those who are accepted. The actual aid is awarded using your 2012 tax forms so just call them or email them, but don’t be stressed out. Apparently, even the Nov. 15 deadline is a soft deadline, so they don’t absolutely have to have it by then.

Stanford receives 6,100 early applications for the Class of 2017, accepting 750. This number is higher than the early applications received by Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

Hello @tonystark13! Welcome, join in our impatient misery! :)

@Holocene, I KNOW I am trying to do Physics too right now and it’s taking forever for me to do a single problem. I just can’t focus!

@stressedasian first, don’t panic  Submit it ASAP, and you’ll probably be okay. Worst case, if they can’t accept it now, you still have fafsa to help you. However, what I think will probably happen is they will get the info and if you have been accepted they will get you what fin aid they can from state and school resources, but you might not get quite as much as you would have. However, they promise to cover all need, and they have a huge fund for scholarships so you’re probably okay. However, don’t take my word for it, definitely call and see what they say!

@Holocene @20tigger17 thanks! honestly, this thing rocks

I’m trying to write a research paper… its death

i cant imagine how the columbia kids must feel since theirs are coming out tomorrow. wait…thats gonna be us in like a week.

IM FREAKING OUT HOLY CRAP.

@pitabread78: O.o wow. You can type Korean? You must be a dedicated kpop fan if you actually have korean installed on your computer. XD
@hata5: Yes, we voice our inner-most DESIRES in korean so that the admission officer who happened to be glancing by can’t understand our inappropriately worded anguish
@wickd5, holocene, & hatat5: I will join you guys if we make it in!
@Andreistavan: I sent in a violin arts supplement. Did you?
@tonystark13: Try to get some of Tony Stark’s ability to concentrate XP I totally understand you though. UGh!

dartmouth and cornell are apparently tomorrow too

hahaha @eucliiris i wish. i was just watching iron man last night, so i thought what the hell

@eucliiris im really not though. I’m incredibly indifferent to kpop. I just taught my self korean using it so i know some of the groups. i just know 소녀시대 is the most popular group like ever. i also know that 강남 스타일 is not actually kpop.

pita it’s worse for us because it COULD be tomorrow or it COULD be next week meaning if it’s next week we suffer TWICE

@stressedasian152 thats…twice the amount of suffering they do!! and for longer!! even if i get in, these will be the worst days of my life

@pitabread78: Ah. so you can’t like hold a conversation in korean?

@eucliiris i mean when i was in korea i could understand what people were saying but it was most “yes, i am from america.” … “yes i like korea.”…“yes i know north korea is bad”…“yes kpop exists” but i have a lot of trouble with how there is no “to want” verb, its like tense in and of itself i think? and pronouncing “ㄹ” i cant say it for the life of me. cause you like touch your tongue to the top of your mouth but you dont make a full out “l” sound right? then saying “를” is the hardest thing ever

Good evening fellow stressers.
