** Official Stanford SCEA Countdown Thread**

thefoodie- Wow your school is small! Mine is around 2,200 students. Even the 7th/8th grade students at my school talk about college...scary! Heh well I just substituted "heck" into that quote because the real word used isn't so nice. For some reason I don't swear, so I can't even type swear words XD It's weird...must have something to do with my OCD. Oh and I don't even understand how the f-word would grammatically fit into that context but somehow the people at my school use it in that sentence despite that.
Yah I'm so stressed right now, and people constantly saying "Oh poor me, I won't get accepted anywhere with my 9,899,758,887 GPA and my billion hours of community service" doesn't really help haha.
Today has been the most stressful day in the past 3 weeks for me because I'm writing my last 4 essays and I'm so tired that they all sound horrible and I'm getting angry at myself...ugh.

Hang in there, everybody! 8 days, 18 hours, and 38 minutes left!

Haha, and you think your school's are small? My graduating class has drumroll, please 12 people! Yaaaay. @_@ Haha, no seriously. Twelve people. We're the first graduating class at my high school, so I have absolutely NO idea where I stand! Super scary...

That decision email had better not arrive late...

LOL wow, 12 people?! That's amazing... about 46 times smaller than mine

12...that's crazy XD I can't even imagine being in a class that small! That must be weird knowing everyone in your class. I probably know 1/3 of my class, and basically the same 40 people have been in all of my classes since sophomore year.
But gosh...12...haha.

A graduating class of 12???? Wow, your senior prom must have been....awkward??hehe....but it must be nice to know everyone....
9 days to go....

wow....and i thought my 145 people in my graduating class was small. well, at least there's less pressure with 12 people...not as many expectations, i think :/

haha, manzagal, no curse words? really? this college process has everyone spewing out profanities left and right lol

I'm in a class of one :O

homeschooled?

thefoodie - yah seriously haha. Instead of cursing I usually make up new angry phrases such as "AHHH MONKEY SHOES!". Yes, I am that weird.

I think there would be more pressure with only 12 people...but I suppose it depends on the students.

My school is really intense because of the valedictorian (sp?) thingy. There are a bunch of people fighting over it and complaining about it, and I didn't even know what it was until about 3 months ago XD

tjan - yes :)

manzagal- ahahaha very creative expression :P right now, i know for sure that i'm out of the valecdictorian range, so there's absolutely no pressure for me to compete with the top 5 people who are like .01 away from each other GPA-wise...it's just amusing watching them fight for every point and tear each other apart with words. unfortunate, but incredibly funny :)

12 people could be more pressure, but since iprocrastinated is the first graduating class, they set the precedent, which is awesome.

Good luck guys hope you all get accepted, I'll probably be going through this next year.

Wow, life is going to suck senior year
lol, Hang in there guys!

thefoodie- I'm out of that range as well. At my school I think 12 people get the valedictorian thing, and I'm below the cut-off because I started Spanish in 9th grade instead of 8th grade (So the valedictorians all took an AP language last year and I didn't). It's such an annoying thing because the smartest kids in my class are nowhere near being valedictorian because they took music/journalism classes which brought down their GPAs.
Hahaha I enjoy watching them argue as well XD and it's just over a silly number that won't even matter to anyone in 20 years.

manzagal-that's the case with my class too! the people who are smart imo are not in contention for valedictorian. i'm out of valedictorian range because i took an extra class (0 period) all four years...which ironically brings your GPA lower. lawlz maybe i shouldn't have worked as hard. and like you said, noone will give a **** (the cursing was for you hahaha) in a year...let alone 20 years. GPAs are truly not representative of that much. oy yea, and funny thing is that stanford tends to pride in the number of valedictorians and saludictorians it rejects.

Haha, odd thing is most of the top students at my school aren't in consideration for being valedictorian. Our IB program has about 60 seniors of which most transferred from different schools so we're pretty much considered separate from the rest of the student body. No weighted GPA either... :(

I really don't like the GPA system. Hopefully the colleges will recognize that the hard work put into other classes is more important than a number.
But who am I to say this, I've never taken an extra class or anything XD

@ thefoodie- Haha thanks for using asterisks instead of the real word at least. I got to use my imagination to fill in the blank mwahahaha. Yay I replaced it with a random non-expletive.

I'm superrrr hyperrrr right now. I actually left my house today gasp.

7 days and 20 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!
