Just got an email for my STANFORD INTERVIEW - can't wait!

Nov 3 - 42 Days.

Good luck ProjectStanford, I'm so jealous you have an interview.

Wooooo it's so long to wait! There were a lot of people who applied early this year. I know of at least 6 others from my school alone!

Same, 6 people are applying from my school as well. I'm nervous.

Lol I'm the only person applying this year, SCEA or RD, and I'm the only person to have applied in 4 years. The only other person who's ever applied (that I know of) is a friend of mine's sister, and she got in. So, technically, my school has a 100% acceptance rate with Stanford lol.
Doesn't say much about my chances though.

Do you have to request an interview or they just automatically contact you if there is an interviewer in your region?

Stanford doesn't do interviews.

Stanford is running a limited test of interviews in a few regions of the US and overseas. I believe this is the first year. Check the website for the areas in which the interviews are offered.

lol I am the only one in my class of one to apply! (homeschooled)

When I went to the community college to get my transcript sent, the lady was quite startled when she saw I had put down Stanford instead of ASU or something :P

Don't you guys hate it when people start to ask, "What school are you applying to ?"
I felt like every time I replied, with a very timid voice of course, "Stanford", they looked at me as if I am so full of yourself.

I don't feel that way, since most of the other kids at my school (well... most of the other kids in my classes, rather) are applying to schools of equal caliber. Actually, it's really surprising, a TON of people I know applied EA to Stanford. I don't know what my school's rates are for getting in, though. I know that two girls got in last year.

Has anyone received an acknowledgement that the Common and Stanford Suppliment was received by Stanford when submitted online?

40 more days....
Nope, I only received Common app's confirmations.

Just got back from my interview. It was awesome, and incredibly insightful! The interviewer was very accomplished (a former professor at Stanford, and the son of a nobel laureate!) and was very impressed. It lasted for about an hour and a half, and was held at a local restaurant. Good luck to everyone else!

Sincerely,
PS

man...I wish they had interviews in my town. So, what did you guys talk about?

Project Stanford what questions did he or she ask you? if you don't mind sharing

I'm ****ed that Stanz interviews aren't offered where I live
but good luck!

My interviewer held SIX degrees from Stanford, and was once a part of the faculty. We spoke for roughly twenty minutes about my passion for sociology, twenty minutes about my leadership positions (varsity soccer, varsity tennis etc), ten minutes on "why stanford", and then nearly thirty minutes about my career as an opera singer. The interviewer was extremely impressed, and said he would write me the "best recommendation possible". Who knows what will come of this, considering it's only an "experimental interview".

Anyway, please chance me

does stanford send out email decisions before mailing them, or send email decisions at all?

yay, another scea person
