? Post it please! Why wouldn't it be?

Wow I can sleep better now....

Early Applications Unexpectedly Surge at Some Private Schools - US News and World Report
thats the link.....

18%, oh wow.

oh my goodness. lol.

okay. ive lost all hope. now im just embarrassed for thinking i could possibly get in.

Oh. My. God.

ohmygoodness.

Isn't it pretty odd that in the midst of the economic 'downturn', the number of applicants to an 'expensive' school like Stanford has risen rather than fallen? I mean I know stanford is THE BEST, but Palo Alto is syill the most expensive college town.....It's like a conundrum....

Yeah, but Stanford has one of the best financial aid programs out there. My family figured out that it would be cheaper for me to go there than to a public in-state school... It's crazy, but true.

Hmm...Interesting....
So 25 days to go......where else are all you people applying??

Nowhere as sweet as Stanford, that's for sure.

That is most certainly true....

Yikes, I just got supernervous. I'm really horrible at this waiting thing. It seems like decades ago that I submitted my application...

5360 SCEA applications?!

yup....5360 SCEA applicants....up 17-18% from last year...If they admit the same number of students, the admit rate for SCEA is going to come down from something around 16% to less than 14%......
all we can do is hope....and continue filling other college apps....

5360?! wowwww

that's depressing

So let me get this right. More people are applying because of increased financial aid? My hypothesis was shattered as I thought due to the financial crisis people's college savings would have depreciated so less applicants. However if you are able to pay the full tuition does that give you a higher chance? Haha the numbers are scary so I am trying to give myself as much hope as possible.

ysbera,
my hypothesis was exactly the same.... Infact our thoughts on this subject are exacly the same.....haha...I'm also trying to convince myself of the same higher improbable chance....
