Hi @Sharingan100. Your post makes me put more hope into it. :D

Guys recently I got a dream that I got admitted to Stanford and I woke up only to realize that’s merely a dream… How sad it is TAT

@Sharingan100. Do you know about how much more will they admit? For example, from 2% to 3%?

Approximately 10 more people (quite a large increase, but too lazy 2 do the math.) btw the source is NOT stanford itself. However, due the unique protocol of stanford transfer admissions, I feel he/she is right.

Oh, I also applied to Stanford this year

check <a href=“Transfer student experience offers rewards, challenges”>http://www.stanforddaily.com/2013/09/17/transfer-student-experience-offers-rewards-challenges/
to see what I mean

@Sharingan100 and others…please stay realistic…don’t forget to be skeptical about what you hear from anyone who is not part of the Admissions Committee…

…in recent years the transfer applicant numbers have been steadily increasing along with the freshmen applicant numbers…since every smart Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to attend Stanford as a new freshman or a transfer student if they don’t get in initially…I wouldn’t be surprised that the number of applicants will be much higher than last year…consistent with the zeitgeist of the winds blowing to Stanford…

…be hopeful…but, please be realistic…whether they accept a few more this year or a few less depending on the scenarios I have outlined for you on the above threads…there will still be MORE applicants you will be competing with than in previous years…

@gravitas I’m trying to be realistic, lol. However, hope never hurt anyone, has it? :D

Im sooooo nervous right now! anyone want to share what they wrote 4 their essays?

@Sharingan100 Hope is good and I really wish you could get in. Actually I personally don’t hope as much as you do. I told myself that I would receive a rejection letter the second I submitted my application and focused back to my work. There’s no college in the world that promises you success nor deny you chance to be the best. Applying to Stanford is simply a last effort to my dream school. If I don’t go in, I will demonstrate my value elsewhere.

@setdreamfly There is a difference between expectation and hope. I will NOT be surprised if I don’t get in (nor in the slightest chance do I expect it), but if I was like you and didn’t feel that I there was even a chance for me to get in, I wouldn’t have even applied to Stanford in the first place - there would be no point. And no, with such an attitude you probably WONT be successful. If you don’t hope, you won’t try your best to reach the top. I hope that I can get in so that I continue to push myself. I feel HOPE and COMMITMENT are what needed to push oneself. These are at least my beliefs.

@setdreamfly I understand your comment and it is true - no college can define you or the potential success you will have in life. But, your attitude can. Telling yourself you will fail while you submit your application is pretty much gonna guarantee that you will be right. I really do hope and pray that you prove me wrong and you get accepted this May, though .

@Sharingan100 I applied and tried my best because I wanna tell myself later that I’ve not missed a single opportunity to get in Stanford. In that case, I would not regret. Thank you for encouraging me.

@Sharingan100 also, I myself is not Stanford oriented. Commitment and Hope are essential to me only in that they are essential to my final dream. Stanford is just one of the approaches that I prefer.

@Sharingan100 That is also why I said that I stopped hoping the second I clicked submit for my application. I tried my best when I applied but never think about it so that I can focus on my current work.

Fair enough :)

not thinking about it is the best, yet I just cant wait to get that email and see the decision. whatever it is I’ll be happy.

@lamelcriada Agree… Only less than one month left before we receive decisions lol.

wat did you guys write about?

bump
