this is random question, but what is the difference between the Daily Colonial and The Hatchet?

They are both student publications, but the Daily Colonial is published daily and only online, while the Hatchet is the more traditional paper printed publication that is published only twice a week.

My personal preference is the Hatchet. It's been around longer and I trust their reporting.

hmmm so each publication is ran by a different group of students?---sry i'm interested in joining the newspaper in college

Yes, both are run by students. The Hatchet has actually won numerous awards on the national level. More reason why I like the Hatchet more.

I have to concur with GWCurrentStudent on this, the Hatchet is truly superior. Although, I do find the Daily to be a good daily fix for my zealous GW-ness. If you want to pursue a job within journalism the Hatchet is the best way to go.

no i don't really want to pursue a job in journalism- do you know anything about joining the colonial or the hatchet....do you just submit stuff or do you have to go through some sort of process to get on the staff?

I would get in contact with one of the editors, but look out for them at CI when all of the student organizations come to recruit....

the link isn't working right now :( Is their server down?? I want to see the article.

The Daily Colonial server was down for you can access it again...
