Official Stats Threads For Prospectives for 2008

Hey, I was thinking we should make a list of our stats and our potential schools. maybe we could label them as reach, safety, and match. Who wants to go first?

Bump? 10 characters

sounds fun. we can keep in contact thru the whole app and decision process.
ok well here goes.
im applying to loomis, andover, exeter, choate, miss porter's, and hotchkiss. i don't really want to say which are safety, reach, etc. i have mainly a's. a+ in spanish, history, and science. i am in honors science, english, and math. i dont know if it helps, but i take russian. i do travel soccer, basketball, jazz and irish step dance, student council, russian club, and christian fellowship. for ssat, i got 88 overall. i took it again and am waiting for the results. anyone else?

I'm applying 8th/9th grade. I am applying to Peddie, Lawrenceville, and Pennington. All reaches I think. I have all As in school. I am in violin, golf, newspaper, math teams, academic teams, science team, this school spirit club activity, NJHS, and church community service club. I got 97% overall for the SSATs. I have no legacy, no money donation, no URM, and I need FA.

I'll give this a shot. Applying to exeter, andover, choate, and deerfield. All reaches I guess. I had A+'s in every class except English(A), PE(A), and Health(A-). I also take Algebra 2 in 8th grade. I wrestle, play tennis, volunteer at my library, did x-country, do math club. 90 overall on ssats. Oh, and no FA.

forgot, i also volunteer at a senior center every week. not tyring to sound braggy or anything, but just so you know.

School:
It's a private day prep school in the midwest.

Grades: 3.9-4.0 throughout middle school. Grades for first quarter in ninth grade were pretty much all B's and a D+ in geometry. (~3.0) Second quarter grades came out to around a 3.7 ~3.3 overall for first semester. While my school is pretty difficult, my grades could be much higher. I have no idea about my rank but I'm sure it wasn't good at all for first quarter, but hopefully for the first semester it will be top 30%+.

SSAT: 43% overall (26 M, 56 V, 54 R) I took it again last weekend and hoping for an improvement, but I'm not sure that will happen. haha

Recommendations
Probably below average for math for the academic parts of it, but for the personal parts they should be pretty good. My Spanish recommendation should be amazing. The teacher loves me. :) haha My English recommendation should be great, and I got a personal recommendation with someone I work with in my mother's business, should be great as well.

Essays
Pretty good

Interviews
I had an interview at Andover while I was there in July and it went pretty well. St. Paul's interview was mediocre. I have my Taft interview on Tuesday, and didn't have a Groton interview because they don't conduct off-campus interviews, so I had to replace it with an additional rec.

does anyone think my score is low? I'm being paranoid about this score because everyone else has a score that in the 90's and most of the schools I'm applying to are the top tier ones, :(

haha, ok, cause I'm procrastinating like crazy for my exams I guess I'll post some stuff about myself.

I had an excellent Exeter interview, a pretty good andover interview and an ok/notgreat SPS interview.

I'm really proud of my essays, and expect that I got good teacher recs.

Oh, and my aunt and grandparent both attended Andover.

And now we all have to nervously wait until march 10! ack.

It'll take for ever!

hey kmfansi, You're taking trig in the eighth grade?!!

Yeah, my school's wierd like that.

fadedskyline
Andover loves to take notes for those perspective athletes, but actually it's worth less. Last year two of my friends were taken notes by Andover's coaches, and they have stellar stats, but they got rejected at the end. So don't trust Andover's notes taking, they are worthless.
