***Official SUNY Buffalo 2015 Decisions Thread***

I just got the presidential scholarship! Does anyone know how trying for the medical gaureenteed program works once you recieve the scholarship?

I hope I get any scholarship lol. Nice job everyone

@BlizzBlazer - I guess myUB only shows if application was complete…UB probably sends decision through mail

@ntham Congratulations! Did you apply specifically for Bio?

Congrats to everyone else

Those with scholarships… NYS Resident or Out of State? Going for Bachelors (on application) or Masters, etc?

Again, congrats…

Congratulations to all:) Are there any international students who received scholarships so far?

My D got her package today. Very excited! Accepted in college of health professions. Received a $12000 Provost Scholarship.

3.69 weighted
honors/aps/lots of volunteer work/leadership
SAT V 630/ M 630/ WR 700
ACT 32

Now the tough decision. She has comparable scholarship from her other top choice. She was certain she wouldn’t receive the scholarship she did. But her high school is extremely competitive and average grades are the norm for honors students. Props to UB for taking that all into account.

My son just got his acceptance to Buffalo
His stats are as follows:
ACT: 31 (got a 36 in math…fell down a bit on the english)
SAT II’s: Biology - 780, Math 1 - 760, Math 2 - 780
GPA: has a unweighted score of 98.7, weighted 104+
Taken a number of AP classes and in his senior year all college classes, running a 99 avg right now, unweighted in his senior year
Took the SUPA (Syracuse college bio course) in his junior year and got a 99
He is ranked #2 in his class.
Great recommendations from school as well as work related
EC’s: mock trial, varsity tennis, scholstic bowl, math team, tutors students, lot of school involvement
He was picked to be the only HS student to be allowed to volunteer at the Orange County, NY coroners office as a autopsy assistant. Does this on school holidays as well as in the summer…got a recommendation from the Coroner.
He also volunteers on the weekends at the local hospital in the ER dept.
Very good essay
He wants to go into medicine.

He got a $5K scholarship. I think it was his ACT composite that lowered his scholarship amount.

Got accepted with a 5k/year scholarship
SAT Stats- 730 CR, 670 Math, 710 Writing
GPA: 96.45 weighted, 93 unweighted. Taking 5 AP classes this year and took three last year xD
Bunch of extracurriculars etc. etc.

Does anyone know when honors college decisions come out?
I’m sort of taken aback because I wasn’t considering Buffalo until now o.o

accepted for biomedical engineering. woohoo!

Just got accepted with the provost scholarship to the school of engineering and applied sciences
3.2 gpa, but took some really challenging classes i.e. AP chem nd physics, 12 AP’s in total
SAT SCORES: 710 math, 660 cr, 670 writing 750 Bio 700 chem 700 physics
Bunch of EC’s: varsity wrestling, football, lacrosse.
Had suspensions on record.
From NY
Rec letter written by the science chairperson.
Not really the greatest student, but i got in and with a scholarship too : )

Hey everyone! Just got my acceptance letter in the mail today! Very excited!

3.3 UW GPA, 3.6 W GPA. 29 ACT. Lots of honors and quite a few AP courses.
EC: over 100 hours volunteering at a local daycare and elementary school, no sports.
$7500 Provost Scholarship.

Considering my stats are pretty average, I’m very happy. UB is my number one choice!
I’m coming from San Diego, California! See everyone at UB soon!

Yeah I got my acceptance package too (twice actually I don’t know why lol)! But it didn’t list which major I got accepted to…is it supposed to? (I applied biomedical science)

3.75 W GPA. 1960 SAT. Lots of honors and quite a few AP classes as well.
EC: Around 200 hours volunteering at local hospital and around 400 to 500 hours working as director/editor on various videos/segments for organizations such as MSG and PBS.

$3000/year Provost Scholarship (not much but still cool)

Average stats but I am happy as well. One of my top choices.

I got my honors college admission packet in the mail today xD (literally a day after I got accepted with a scholarship). I think UB is going to most likely be my choice for attendance in the fall =)

Just got my admit for Electrical Engineering with a 5k Provost scholarship…

SAT: 800 M 800 CR 710 W
GPA: ~3.8
Blah blah extracurriculars etc.

Feels really nice to get one admissions decision in already!!

Just got my honors college invite…apparently there are 325 of us. That’s pretty cool.

Congratulations to all:):)

My daughter just got an initial letter today, informing her about deposit stuff etc. Majoring in Biology (pre-med). Did you get scholarship info in the initial letter or did it come with something different? I would find it hard to believe that she wouldn’t get any scholarship - as she is a very strong student, AP’s/Honors, high GPA and many EC’s. But, it has me wondering.

The initial letter that tells you whether or not you’ve been accepted told me about my receiving a scholarship. I think not positive they could have based their scholarship on SAT scores. Regardless, it could come with the honors college admission letter as well.

Got the honors college invite today!

I got my scholarship info in the initial letter, which said that I was accepted to my major, etc. stuff. The honors college admission letter didn’t mention anything about my scholarship. I don’t think it’s based purely off SAT scores…here is the website’s description for the Provost: (per [UB Undergraduate Admissions: Costs, Scholarships and Aid - Scholarships - Merit Scholarships](http://admissions.buffalo.edu/costs/meritscholarships.php))
