Make sure you express your passion and enthusiasm for the school in both your application and interview. I didn’t know a lot about the school when I applied (though I visited the campus and researched it more fully later), and I think a lack of enthusiasm showed through in my application and interview.

[*]Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: I mean, I forgot to interview and four other kids from my class of 69 had already gotten in, so I expected this/am at least happy I wasn’t rejected. I haven’t decided if I’ll stay on the list, but I got accepted to Pomona today, and I’ve always sort of liked them equally. Plus, I have more schools to hear from![/ul]

Waitlisted in SoCal.
Don’t feel like posting all my stats, but I am ranked #1 in my class, APs, extracurriculars, but interview was, well, intense (w/ Admissions dean on campus) and my scores were on the low side (29 ACT).
Is it worth it to go on the waitlist? I have no top choice…

Nothing yet today in GA…

No e-mails for international yet… Unless that’s what they’re doing for rejections.

raiderade, yes i did.
i went to campus twice, and the 2nd time I had my interview. it was pretty long and the lady seemed very interested in what i had to say, and she even said i’d be a good fit.

…guess not good enough.

waitlisted, which is totally fine with me since i got in my first choice. :-)

I’m so nervous! I live in SoCal and haven’t gotten any news yet.

So… snail mail, right?
I’m in CA (northern) and haven’t received anything yet…

accepted yesterday via mail in upstate new york…i also got my acceptance for pomona yesterday via snail mail, and it was mailed the same day as swarthmore (both w/ priority mail i believe), so assuming incredible cross-country mailing speed works in both directions, you west coast people who haven’t heard yet should be hearing on monday. good luck!

Is there any way to check online? My friend already received his rejection =(, but I haven’t gotten anything in the mail (he lives about 5 minutes away from me). I live in the midwest. Should I just wait until monday?

There is no way to check online. You are at the mercy of the US Postal Service. West Coast may take 3-4 business days, possibly 5 depending on how remote a student is.

I live in CA and I got letter yesterday waitlisted…
