For Swarthmore interviews, the Why essay, campus life, and everything!

Good luck to everyone applying:)

Had my interview last weekend and it went great: )

What are people thinking for the Why essay?

Reminder: Swat interviews have to be requested by oneself on its website; Swat won’t notify the applicant

Good luck ED applicants! Y’all hearing in three days or so?

why are you talking to yourself brah

hi pals

can i talk here if im ed2 applicant lulz

Sure you can @Ctesiphon !

@jeff0418 Because nobody is joining the thread! So i wanted to push it to the front and make more people see it and join in. For the Yale thread, there’s like 90 pages, but for liberal arts colleges, just one page…

submitted app few days back
but have not got any email confirmation from the college…the only email got was from common app about submitting my app.

is this normal and has anyone else gotten any email directly from college and gotten any portal kinda info?

Just submitted my EDII application!

Also ED2 but I’m having a real hard time with the supplement. Honestly, I feel like I’ve gotten nowhere after all my edits/rewrites.

Good luck to everyone, though!

I’ve rewritten my supplement at least ten times. As an ED2 applicant, I also feel your pain @fritzitty

My supplement is great. I’ve already submmited my applicatio.
i want to be accepted. I hope tjhey love my clever and funny supplement! :)

Are we talking about the Why essay? How did you guys balance things about yourself and things about Swarthmore? I wrote much about myself and linked those beliefs/actions to Swarthmore “spiritually”, but didn’t write any specific program/detail about Swarthmore. Given it’s only 250 words, I thought it’d be a little waste of space to write too much about the college rather than myself. Also, writing about programs sounds a little unconvincing to me.

Anyway, how have you guys approached it?

I personally tried just talking about how much I think I would do well with Research (Already did some) and Community-Based Learning Classes (linking it to my approach on online learning and desire to expand my types of learning). Not my strongest essay, i will admit, though, although I hope that doesn’t bar me from being accepted. Definitely one of my top 8/18 colleges, though
Does anyone else have a standarized test score problem? I sent mine on the 27th, and it was still not received…
I’m getting the same thing.
I’d give it a few days, since colleges are just starting to open up again. I think they also asked in an e-mail somewhere that we don’t bother them until the 15th regarding supposedly missing documents.
Same here, but I don’t remember an email asking us to wait. Guess I’ll just sit tight for another week?
Hi so on my application checklist, I still don’t know whether or not they received my ACT scores. In fact, the ACT score isn’t even part of the checklist so I don’t know if it is “Missing” or not. Is this a problem?
here is what shows on mine…

Are there any other EDII applicants hoping to get in? I spent over a hundred bucks on this application so I hope I get in. Would be a bit of a waste of money, if you know what I mean LOL.
Plus Swarthmore is a great college. I’d really like to go.
