Waitlisted, 30 ACT. 3.75. Good recs and ECs. Whatever, I wanted to go, but it's quite impractical anyways. Basically $40,000 a year minus whatever crappy financial aid they would offer me....better academic schools have taken me, but the location at Pepp was my main driving force. Congrats to those who were accepted

Congrats to all who got in! As happy as I am that I got in, I actually won't be attending Pepperdine. Don't get me wrong, I love this school, but it was my second choice. I'm going to Vanderbilt instead. So for those who were waitlisted, there's now a spot open.

I'm really excited because I got a phone call today saying I got a Regent Scholarship, which they said was the highest the University gives. Does anyone know any more information on this scholarship, or where I could find out more online? I've tried searching, but found nothing, thanks.

ennaxor- did you put something like really unique or have like amazing EC's on your application? haha i was accepted and im just trying to figure out if i could possibly get a scholarship too

As far as ECs, I've been the section leader in my school orchestra and the district GATE orcehstra for four years, I was in the marching band in 10th grade, have been in academic decathlon for four years, quiz bowl for 2 years, and am an active member in a Church of Christ. I'm also a National Hispanic Scholar, but I don't know if that played a role. I've really got no idea what the scholarship is based on, but I'm happy I got it!

your EC's are very impressive.. i think the fact that you are an active member of the Church of Christ solidified that scholarship tho.. im part of the Christian church so i dont think ill be getting one.. especially not the regent scholarship if its the highest one they give.. o well

from the posts on here it appears that Pepperdine is thoughful enough to send out the mail in waves according to geographic location in an attempt for all accepted students to receive notification as close together as possible

I got waitlisted on Monday this week.

Found out today that I got Regents. Don't know much about the scholarship, except its $22,000 a year, and their highest academic scholarship. However, I am now definitely considering the school (wasn't really before - too expensive).

Oh, btw, in case anyone's wondering, I'm not Church of Christ, though I am a Christian.

everyone on this thread for Pepperdine has been either accepted or waitlisted. I still haven't heard anything. i hope that doesn;t mean i was rejected.

btw, pepperdine sends out its acceptences first, then its rejections

I was waitlisted and found out on Tuesday.

giob700, how do you know that Pepperdine sends out rejections last?

i work in the admission office

Accepted
2350 SAT (800, 800, 750)
36 ACT
4.65 GPA (W)

I got Regents, and wow.. let's just say that Pepperdine is looking quite attractive now.

I was a bit surprised at my admittance since I'm not Christian or a member of the Church of Christ. I'm secretary of the Buddhist Club at my school, lol (I'm not Buddhist though, but they don't know that).. hm.. anyone know the environment for non-religious people at Pepperdine?

How many regent scholars are there?

Are there any perks of being a regents besides getting the reduction in tuition? For example , do you know if you get priority registration or housing, are accepted to the honors program (is there even a honors program to get accepted to?), or do things together with the other regents scholars? Does the $22,000 go up proportionately as tuition goes up each year? ( I am the mom of BookAddict)
