$$$$$ Official Thread - Admission into NEOMED BS/MD Program (Fall of 2016) $$$$$

Received my invite packet.

@dreamed

Congratulations! Merry Christmas !! Happy New Year !!!

@Pras2016 - thanks

GREAT Christmas present! XD
Congrats!

@jumbletumbles - Indeed, what a relief …for now …lol

Any idea where I can expect interview questions? My daughter got the interview.

For those who got invited to interview, when are you interviewing ? Jan / Feb ? I will start with me, I interview in Feb.

Do you know, if there is a campus tour involved when the candidates appear for their interview ? Or maybe an informational session for the parents ?

Can out of state kids can apply for this NEOMed ? Whoever got interviews what r ur stats. My kid is in a junior now. Like to apply for 6 or 7 year med program . Any suggestions how to prepare

Anyone attend the January interviews? How’d it go? I’ve been thinking about how the winter storms might have affected attendance.

@jumbletumbles - I thought that January interviews were scheduled for Jan 30th / 31st…maybe I have incorrect information.

@dreamed You’re right

Having issues again… Sorry! Good luck to those going this weekend!

Hi, I am currently an in-state junior in high school and I am very interested in applying to NEOMED next fall. I’ve been wondering a lot about NEOMED and it’s nice to have finally found a thread that discusses it! Can anyone who has received an interview share their credentials?

@3kiddos - yes, OOS seniors may apply. However, since this is a state supported program it tends to be extremely competitive for OOS students. Breaking from their usual acceptance stats, last year a record number of 9 OOS students matriculated out of 104. Traditionally it’s been around 2-4. See here for most current student profile http://www.neomed.edu/admissions/medicine/bsmd/COMBSMDC1ClassProfile201515thDay.pdf

As for stats, for privacy reasons, I will just generically list my sons: 4.0 UW, rank 1%, multiple APs, ACT 34/35 range. Leadership - school & state Level, Sports - more than 1 Varsity sport, school & state level, also many years of non-school related sport, Research - national level, Medically related EC- shadowing multiple specialties, paid work related, volunteering for medically related cause.

As for how to prepare, if you read through some other posts on CC, there are some great advise posts that’d better serve you than I could give. Hope that helps!

Anyone who has interviews this weekend, let us know how they went and what types of questions were asked. My interviews are in Feb!

I think everyone here that were invited got Feb interview dates. Please correct me if I’m wrong

It does seem really odd though that everyone commenting on here got Feb! Lol. Wonder if there’s a reason for that…

I do have a friend who has her Neomed interviews this weekend so if she shares any valuable info I will be sure to pass it on :slight_smile:
