[Picture Yourself at Emerson](<a href=“Admissions & Aid, Academic Programs, Emerson College”>Admissions & Aid, Academic Programs, Emerson College)

My niece was wait-listed 2 years ago - she sent them a letter saying Emerson was her first choice, and she had been dreaming of going there for years, and they admitted her for the following spring term.

Thanks WMassMom…my D is really hoping that she gets off of the waitlist. We were really surprised she did not get in as she seemed to be a good fit academically and our older D goes there. As soon as she got the “waitlisted” letter she sent back the response that she wanted to remain on the waitlist.
She is moving onto her 2nd choice and trying to get excited about that knowing that the chances of getting off of the waitlist are not great. She has also said if she does not get in to Emerson she will try to transfer next year. Her waitlisted letter suggested that she consider doing that if she does not get in this year.
Thanks for the ecouragment!!

I was recently accepted to Emerson College for Communication and couldn’t be more excited! However, I was wait-listed for a Tuition Exchange Scholarship. Just wondering if anybody here also applied for Emerson’s Tuition Exchange Scholarship or if anybody is currently attending Emerson with the scholarship.

Found out a couple weeks ago, still trying to figure out where to go from here. I’m staying on the list, but now I’m trying to find things I can do to make my application stronger, I really want to go here in the fall (despite the near bankruptcy I’m going to have to deal with).

GPA: 3.5 UW, 3.6 W
SAT: 590 CR, 540 M, 640 W
ACT: 27 (33 E, 27 R, 24 M, 24 S, 29 W)
APs: English Language, English Lit, US History, Environmental Science
ECs: Anything and everything band (made honor bands and stuff), Community service-type club, academic club, mock trial team (won most outstanding witness, good I suppose?)

Any suggestions on how I can boost my chances when they look over apps again for waitlistees? I’m planning on sending in graded writing samples (I didnt originally because I wasn’t in my literature class long enough to produce any when the app was due, I’ve made high A’s on all of them so far), as well as a memorial my family asked me to write when my aunt died. I’m also planning on trying to snag an internship really soon, and I’m going to try and volunteer as a photographer for a local newspaper. Any help would be awesome.

Congrats to everyone who got in!

Got in to Emerson Honors in Writing and Publishing. My parents broke the news to me today that they just can’t afford it even with the $23,000 Emerson gave me in scholarship.
I don’t know what to do…
