@APScholar18 Which programs interest you?
Any accepted candidates for bs/md program 2015 like TCNJ/njms, rpi/Albany, njit/njms union/Albany, sonybrook, Drexel ⦠etc ⦠please post your stats like sat/gpa/ec. Thanks much.
@APSholar18, I have seen this question asked numerous times, both in this board and in College Seminars. The answer always has been, āYes, apply!ā I am yet to see a ādonāt botherā answer, because that would be mean. So, just look at the data (from result threads, for current year and past years), and try to figure out for yourself where you have a shot. You already seem to know that Brown doesnāt place much emphasis on SAT/ACT but wants National level recognition. Each program has a focus on something. If you ask āShould I apply to Harvard?ā, even Harvard admissions counselor will say āplease apply, because you never knowā, because they want to boost their admissions percentage numbers.
I would answer your question as āSAT/ACT scores are necessary but not sufficient conditionsā whether it is mid-tier or top-tier program.
@Tacy115 Thats a very good decision between Brooklyn College/ SUNY Downstate BAMD and Stony Brook you will get more Clinical exp, at SUNY and Stony is more focused towards research. Mr.Steven Silbering who manages the
Brooklyn College BA/MD program guides his students well, and I have observed the students in this program to be very happy and with full tution Scholarship you cant be wrong, Good luck.
Sat scores: Reading 600 Math 800 Writing 760
Subject tests: chem 710 math II 800
A lot of shadowing and hospital volunteering. I play soccer and basketball for my school and I tutor math, chemistry, and biology. Essays were genuine and solid but not amazing.
Accepted: Stony Brook program, Monmouth/Drexel Ursinus/Drexel Rosemont/Drexel Union/Albany Brooklyn/Downstate and Penn State/Jefferson
So whoever tells you that scores are super super important is a liar
Is there a Facebook group for Stony Brook BS/MD? I got off the waitlist and have decided to attend.
@amf123 hey Iām going to Stony Brook med and hereās the group that I made on facebook
https://www.facebook.com/groups/771324559603740/ message me on here too.
@StudyAndParty26 where did you decide to go?
@mdiqbal71 where did you decide to go?
@jb9832 Penn state/Jeff
@aus123 ā¦NJIT/NJMS. Got in almost all that I have applied to opted for IS.
I guess anything is possible in the BA-BS/MD application processā¦SAT 2160 is not even close to 2324, which is 2014-15 average for Penn State/Jefferson program.
I agree with studyand party26
It is not scores but the whole package!
The programs want to have successful doctors at the end.
It is not super scores alone and even w little lower one may take another test like ACT
If SAT was not ideal
One need to look at your extras critically and have balance
Congrats
I have committed to RPI/AMC PSP. Is there a Facebook group for RPI/AMC PSP.
Is there a Facebook group for UIC-GPPA?
Congrats to everyone!
@MichBSMD, my daughter, who is a freshman in the RPI/AMC PSP, said to look up RPI/AMC Physician Scientist Class of 2022 in FaceBook if you are interested. All of the current freshmen are on it, as well as some of the sophomores and incoming freshmen of next year.
Thanks
