Does anybody know if we need to send mid-year grades to any of the undergrad schools or med schools as a part of the application process?
@jb9832â I am instate
@in2llectâ first off, congrates! Secondly, I got the same dates as well. Have you gotten a reply yet other than the automated email back?
Does anyone know what the stats are for WUSTL University Scholars program? How many interviewed/accepted?
There are 10 seats are fewer at WUSTL.
Just got an interview at BU so for those still waiting, donât give up hope!
Is there any advantage to the WUSTL program? I know one of the requirements is to maintain a 3.8 and get a 36 on the MCAT, but if you got that, it seems like you would have a really good chance to get in anywhere.
@BSMDorBustâ
I think they have a really low matriculation rate too. Like very few people who enter the program their sophomore year actually complete it due to the incredibly high MCAT and GPA requirements.
Any of you who applied to these BS/MD programs used any private counselors for applications and/or essays? Your feedback/comments are highly appreciated.
@HS2DirectMed I was accepted ED to Brown PLME this year and did not use any private counselors for anything. I also come from a small semi-rural high school were I received no help on my applications or essays from Guidance or anyone there either. I did it 100% completely on my own.
Does St Bonaventure Uni look at senior year first semester grades before selecting a student for GW interview in these couple weeks? Wonder what is SBU policy regarding senior year grades in general? Thanks!
@jalebi21 Rice/Baylor stats: 921 expressed interest / 287 were given the opportunity to compete for admission to the Med Scholars / 45 were selected for interview at Baylor / 16 were offered admission / 10 enrolled;
@lax1997 Congratulations!! The only Ivy with a direct med!
@HS2DirectMedâ
I didnât use any outside help either. If youâre passionate about medicine it will show in your essays.
921 applied to Rice and 287 were admitted out of which 45 moved to interview stage.
had my UM interview a couple weeks ago⊠it was pretty generic, qualities of a doctor, qualities you have that will make you a good doctor, questions about yourself/activities. nothing to stress out about
Interview for UConn set for next week. I believe if you havent got an interview you have been denied.
@BSMDorBust WashU Med has the average GPA of 3.9 and MCAT score of 38. Also, you cannot assume that just because you have the average or above average stat of a particular medical school, you will be admitted into that program since there will be thousands of other applicants with similar stat as you will be vying for a spot along with you.
@Krish400158â
Do you know if UConn will at least send us a rejection letter?
My son received the Northwestern HPME interview invite today! Anyone have any information on what this interview is like? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.
For UCONN SPiM, what does it mean by âWhile there are no state residency requirements, Connecticut residents receive special consideration.â
What if an out-of-stater has better stats than an in-state student? Is the âspecial considerationâ given before or after the interview?
