The 2016 application season is starting. The prospective applicants may use this thread to start their discussions.
Do to be qualify for a BS/MD do you need to be a coming rising junior?
Usually a rising senior applying to college who is interested in medicine
does Integrated BS/MS Program in Meteorology count?
BS/MD is a med program probably not meteorology related
I don’t see any BS/MD thread for class of 2016 so here you go. It’s a little bit early but let’s start some discussions going! Thanks!!
It is time folks
Please see older forum as well
Hi I was following the 2015 thread the whole time last year and it’s finally time for me to apply for these programs. I just got my AP scores and was wondering whether they really affect me admission wise. I’m a bit worried this 3 might affect me
@juhers usually AP scores are just used for credit at universities, but I do know that the NU HPME request card asks for your AP test score specifically for each test.

What schools is everyone thinking of? Also does anyone know if UPitt GAP has any preference for instate students?
@basketball1998 how did you get your emt certification? Don’t you have to be at least 18 years old?
You can get certified at the age of 16. But I am a provisional EMT who is allowed to assist with medications such as nitroglycerin and glucose. I become an official EMT when I turn 18.
@basketball1998 what state do you live in? and where did you do the training? Because I saw online that you had to be 18 and have a high school diploma
@basketball1998 everything looks solid with you except for your SAT scores. Most programs won’t even look at you unless you cross 2150. And I know the NJIT program stresses a lot about SAT scores. I had a friend that interviewed with NJIT with a 2220 and the interviewer said they really look for 2250+. I got into 4 programs with a 2160 so don’t feel discouraged. Just make sure your essays, resume, and interview are amazing.
@dkistheway your profile looks pretty sweet. I would build up some more medical experiences though. With a little more shadowing and hospital volunteering or another medical experience you should be a very competitive candidate
Could you tell how mine looks like?
