@upstream Thanks for the motivational words I dont plan on losing hope just yet haha! @texaspg I did consider the 8 year at GA Regency but frankly I would rather go to UGA or much preferably Emory since I already have over a year of research here. @J2H239 I agree that was definitely a mistake on my part in that my test scores were low. Thanks for the advice guys!
@yaabbas786 - There in lies the rub. The fact that you only applied to 7 (?) programs that are most attractive to you can make a difference when you are applying to very selective BS/MD programs. Each of them have their own requirements and how they preselect their pool for interviews and there are schools which might accept you but you may not have applied to them?
Yours is not a wrong approach, it is just a value based one where you have decided that you will only apply to those which interest you and if not you will attend undergrad of your choice.
Hey guys! For those of who have been to an interview what would you consider as proper interview attire? Is dress pants and a nice blouse okay for girls or is a blazer necessary as well?
i never wear a blazer unless iām having it at the interviewerās office, but in the case of BSMD, i wore a full suit
Iām not applying this year, but what BSMD programs can someone with close to 1600 New SAT but a 3.91 UW GPA (4.6ish weighted) apply for a good chance of acceptance? Iām looking at TCNJ BS/MD, but everyone who is accepted has a perfect GPA so it worries meā¦
@doc300001169 . For all interviews: boys go in full suit and tie and girls in suits too. Blazer, blouse, paired with skirt/ trouser. You will feel very under dressed otherwise. Good Luck!
@neophite TCNJ stresses a lot on test scores. So you should be fine with them.
@neophite Only for TCNJ: They prefer SAT, so try your best. But in case if you are not able to get the best possible score but let us say you got perfect 36 in ACT, then donāt submit the SAT score. From the hard lesson learned sharing that. GL
@doc300001169 I agree with @goaltobemd & @teenagecrime.
Youāre interviewing for a professional graduate school for one of the most difficult & largest time commitment necessary professions out there. Your attire should reflect that. As with everything in your futures, isnāt just about proper clothing choice, IMO. Your clothing should be an outward reflection of the respect youāre paying to the occasion or in this case, the profession youāre interviewing to enter. Does that make sense?
ā¦i just said i wore full professional clothing for my bsmd interviews
oh wait i misread that
I agree
The cloth reflect who you are
This morning email from Villanova pre-interview rejection for Villanova/Drexel.
Does legacy act as a hook for BSMD programs if the parent didnāt attend the program, just the college (mom went to NJIT)?
@GoldenRock you got an interview from drexel/drexel but got a reject from villanova/drexel? thats strange
@neophite from my understanding legacy for BS/md counts if parent had attended the med. College⦠Not the UG. Once the file is forwarded by the UG to med college the decision is solely of the medical college and UG has no say in it.
@dudefromnowhere Actually not surprised. Because each UG college can determine whom they want to consider and forward only their selective candidates. It (Drexel Medical college) works slightly different from AMC. For example, when AMC notifies you to submit supplement, you know because of which UG college. But when you got the notification to pay $150 from Drexel Medical, you did not know because of which UG college they asked you. So it implies now, only Drexel UG forwarded her candidacy to Drexel Medical and Villanova did not select her for the next step. Could not forward for many reasons, including the number of seats each feeder college gets. Villanova has limited seat but Drexel UG has more seats and Lehigh has very small (I heard it is just 1 - One of friendās son was that lucky person 7 years back).
btw, speaking of drexel, anyone else interviewing tomorrow?
Legacy and race donāt count for BS/MD. Legacy and Race will help for regular UG into MD. Neophite apply as many as you can for BS/MD if you want to get in medical school through BS/MD. I wished that I have applied more.
I just received the supplement for Albany Medical College with Rensselaer!
