@stdmedsch I am a current Junior @J2H239 @tunetheday @texaspg thanks for the input… I would rather you give me the brutal truth and be harsh haha so thanks… If I can get my score to a 32 or above as well as my subject tests… do you think that will help any more? And what other things can I do to better exhibit my medical passion? I really want to become the strongest applicant possible but I just don’t know how… My passion is there, I will do whatever it takes to become a doctor… but how do I better show that in my application… I think I have my best chance if I can just get through the doors and into an interview because I am a good talker and I feel like that will really show my passion… but how can I get to the interview… I am already planning in case I don’t get into a BS/MD, but do you have any recommendations for traditional route schools I may be able to get into with my credentials and best ensure acceptance to medical school? Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help and value your opinion…
does anyone know how many people applied for the hofstra program, how many people get interviews, and how many get in?
did anyone hear back from W&J?
@bsmdacceptme I haven’t heard anything either
Looks like I m not selected for hofstra interview
Looks like I m not selected for hofstra interview. Today was the last day for invites as mention in email. Did anyone hear from them today?
Yes, I also got an interview. Also just notified today that I also got an interview for the Texas Tech UMSI program. I wonder how many they are interviewing. Anyone from prior years know.
UMiami Update:
Qualified HPM applications = 482
Requested Video response from 80
Interview invitations sent = 40
Acceptances will be sent to 20 students
10 to 15 will metriculate
@HS2DirectMed
Thanks for the Miami Update/Stats
@cgonzalez108 At this point, get all your scores up to as high as possible… As your scores are your weak point, you have to show through extracurriculars the passion you speak of. Volunteer at hospitals, nursing homes, disability centers, anything medically related. Go try and do some research. Dedicate yourself to it( even if it means you are going to have to sacrifice some of your other activities) From what I hear… these programs have a basic cutoff for scores and AFTER score cutoffs begin other evaluation. First get past that hurdle of test scores.
@jscoffee Thanks for that information… that is my plan of action… Thank you
I just got a likely letter from Brown University in the mail today! It came as a total surprise, seeing as I am not an athlete. PLME decision will come out at a later date per letter.
@IfnousWHO Congrats! Really wonderful
@IfnousWHO what was the letter about and what did it say? Did they send those out to people who are likely to be accepted or what I don’t understand/
Did the letter from Brown say anything about regular Brown under admission? Or it is just saying that you didn’t make to their varsity athletic team.
It is a likely letter. The letter informs that student should expect to be accepted. It is specifically for undergraduate admissions. Almost every top tier school does this now for select students. Seems to no longer be just for athletes.
Hey everyone, I was wondering, when are all of your Northwestern HPME interviews. Mine is scheduled for this week and i was wondering if I will see any of you there!
@SmartAlec Mine is this Friday; what about yours? Maybe we’ll see each other!!
@SmartAlec Mine is Friday also!
Hi guys - do you have any advice for a sophomore planning on applying to some of these programs?
