@GoldenRock same; thanks for the SBU update.
Wonder if more people will get TCNJ interview call as very few have reported interviews on this forum
Penn State may still be reviewingā¦ my D had issues with her recommendation letter (their fax was not working so they didnāt receive it ā¦ it happened more than once) and they said they will consider her as an exception
TCNJ: We need to hang tight and cross our fingers until we get a mail one way or other for TCNJ. Because there is no means to reach any one and get an update. The only number where we can reach is the UG admission office and that rep told only Biology (Dr.Shevlin) dept can provide an update and there is no number where you can speak with a live person.
But looking at their web site, TCNJ entry for the first level is very very very high. Noticed they have updated the site recently, because it had ACT 34 and now it is updated to ACT 35. It appears they prefer SAT. If you have not got either SAT 1500 (CR+M) or ACT 35, it is granted that we will not get interview. But if you have those numbers, still it is not clear when you will get notification.
So far goaltobemd and tlie222 are the only 2 got interview and both have stellar credentials, 1600 & 1590 for SAT.
My D has a decent score (1500 the minimum cutoff in SAT but ACT 36 and SAT 2 in Math2/Bio/Chem 800 each) if not stellar in SAT and have not got any notification. If you have taken both SAT and ACT, SAT will be considered. Will update if and when we get any emails.
Hey guys I am in shock about not getting an interview for SBU. I had a 2100 SAT score, a 99 GPA, 700+ in subject tests, so I more than met the basic requirements. AS far as volunteer and health related experience, I felt I excel in that too. Not only have i spent over 2 years volunteering at a hospital, but I am also a Junior EMT and a Junior Fire Fighter and dedicate almost 7 hours every sunday to ems and Im even the secretary of the ambulance core. In school, I have participated on my track and field team, Muslim awareness club, other culture clubs, and the pre medical society, and I have held positions in each of the clubs. I am very disappointed and upset that I didnāt get an interview and cannot figure out why I didnāt.
Does anyone know when we will hear from BU?
@GoldenRock and @bsmd14 the deadline for SBU is January 15th, correct?
@adamrocks Donāt get down about not getting in to SBU. It is a very selective program (really any one is). Many people got rejected with higher scores and more ecs. Really it all depends on their preferences. If you dont get into a bsmd, you can always go through the regular routeā¦
@danthepotato I dont think ur test score are up to par. If you r a junior u still have and oppurtunity to bring up those test scores. Beware of the requirements for many of the bsmd which are like 3.5 UW and 32 ACTā¦ur ecs are fantastic tho
@faith4ever17820 Not clear with your question. For BS/MD program, deadline is Nov 1st for SBU. Already a person got the interview email and my D got the rejection. The interview is Jan 23 or 30th. May be you are referring their regular UG admission date, which may be Jan 15th.
@adamrocks It is hard to take when you are all studying hard and doing what ever best. But all these programs are very selective and no one can predict who will get interview and who will get selected etc., Focus on what you can control and leave the rest. Some thing will work out for you before May 1st. Good luck.
@steminspire My reading of BU is they consider and review the application only after they get the mid-year report. So it is going to differ for every student and will be a late and lengthy process to know one way or other. For example, my Dās school 1st semester ends only in Jan 22nd and by the time the report reaches BU it will be close to Jan 30th.
@GoldenRock the deadline for the Scholars for Medicine program is January 15th, nowhere does it say November 1st on any website
It says so on the Common Application as well
@faith4ever17820 Please refer to their web site since donāt want to add more confusion. You are referring a program Scholars for Medicine. SBU offers many programs. The program I am referring is SBU-GW Dual Admit Program in Medicine and for that the deadline is Dec 1st (it is my bad and not Nov 1st).
Also keep in mind in general, Common App will refer the deadlines of the regular UG app deadlines. For any BS/MD program you need to research the individual web site and understand all the requirements (which differs from college to college). Here is the link for the program I am referring. In the middle you will see the 12/1 deadline.

We strongly recommend that you complete your application before the due date of Dec. 1 of your senior year in high school. This includes the Common App and all supplemental materials. We will review all completed applications received by Dec. 1; however, last-minute applications may hurt your candidacy.
@GoldenRock I checked last yearās thread. It seems like BU interview notification will come out in the next week or so. Last year received their notifications on 12/20
my rejection from SBU came in today
Does anyone know who at Penn State coordinates this program?
Does anyone hear from psu? it said āYour application is currently under review by the Science. You should receive an admission decision within six weeks.ā
