Official Thread for One-Year Transfers

WOOO just got into UCLA it IS possible to transfer into a great school in 1 year, you can do anything you put your mind to.

congrats DC, I got in too! Anyone else hear yet??

Wow good job guys, that’s an inspiration! I got in too, but it took me 3 years!

as long as you’re in :)

i’ve also been accepted!! :]

Congratulation to you guys !!!
I got rejected…UCLA is truly my dream school but…oh, well
I will go to UCD then. Or maybe I can get in to UCB lol

It feels good to hear all the acceptances from one-year transfer people. It shows that you can do it if you believe in it despite all the obstacles !
Cheers !!!

I just got in for Business Econ after graduating high school in June 2009. This spring I’ll have like 80 units + units from AP scores.

nyc, what were your stats?

Also accepted to UCLA after one year =D English major.

Accepted to UCLA as a one year transfer - Philosophy major. Congrats everyone else, see you at UCLA in the Fall :)

@cpbbookworm

Ok quite ashamed of my stats
GPA: 3.0 [yes i know, i was doing really well then some personal stuffs happen and I screw up my fall sem, blame myself :frowning: ]
ECs: Volunteer and unpaid internship; some honors
Major: Communications (super impacted at UCLA)
IGETC and Pre-Req: done by Spring 10
No TAP
My APs didn’t count because I have to take the same class for my major
so 60 units in exactly 1 year; concurrent enrollment at 3 colleges

I have learned a lot about how to deal with rejection so I’m fine  Content to attend UCD :)

Congrats to you and all other 1 year transfers who made it to UCLA or perhaps UCB

UCD is a great school, I would be happy there too! My dad went there (he was even a super senior lol, spent too much time smoking pot and took 5 years) and he went on to get his masters at Yale and now he’s really successful. It’s also a lot prettier than Cal or LA (I live in Westwood so I’m biased) and great for liberal arts. Just watch out for ducks :)

So great to hear that. Thanks for sharing. I know UCD is a great school. I just visited it. No sight of cows like what I often hear but lot of ducks. HAHA
My only concern is that it’s too quiet and peaceful… I’m a big city type of gal. lol. But I guess it would be nice for a change of scenery.

By the way, if u don’t mind my questions, what is ur first choice UCLA or UCB ? and what’s ur major ?

Well there’s always Sacramento nearby, and SF isn’t too far either. And the Mondavi center is soooo neat! but I am a city girl too so I sympathize…

haha i’m poli sci, cal would be my top choice but I would also be happy at la or davis (especially because my aunt and uncle, both of whom went to davis, live in sacto. so i guess i’m biased towards davis because my family loves it and I love the campus).

^^^
Good luck on Friday April 30th then
Can’t wait to hear updates from all 1 year transfers abt their UCB decision

Accepted to 4 of 4. UCSB, UCLA, UCSD, Cal. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Now to decide between UCLA and Cal…

congrats on CAL!!! i just got into ucla no cal good job!

Accepted 6 for 6: UCSD, UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCLA and UC Berkeley.
1 year transfer.

Y’all can do it too, it’s just not easy. Best of luck everyone :)

I’m fairly certain I’m gonna be a Bruin (unless I get into Stanford, which isn’t happening, or USC magically gives me a better financial packet than UCLA).

well i was rejected from berkeley as a 1 year. i think its cause i had a 3.74, which is ridiculously low for econ. do you think i’d have a chance at appealing? my gpa has risen to a 3.8 since i took winter session classes, and i won 3rd place in the college’s lit mag for an essay…

oh, and im still fkn pending at ucla, but got into ucsd and davis. i hope i dont have to pick btwn those two, i want la to take me.

Congrats to all! I’m off to UCLA . . . didn’t get in to Cal and UCLA gave me a scholarship! Yay!
