Thanks for the correct numbers LNmom Apparently I was thinking of the 2012 numbers. They were posted by hbsocal here on CC just last May (2013), so that’s why I got mixed up thinking they were the most recent.
Here’s what it said:
UCLA waitlist “Fall 2012, 4,600 waitlist offers went out; 2,900 students opted in; 482 were admitted; 288 SIR’ed. The information was obtained during the UC Counselor Conference presentation in September 2012”

@RamboRambo I don’t know how many batches there will be. But from the trends of previous years… acceptances stop after mid-May. You shouldn’t really trust someone over the internet. I’m totally not sure. But I think we’ve got some more time…

@AndromedaSaysHi Good point, but mid-May sounds about right! Where have you all SIR’d to in the mean time?

I SIR’d to UCI. What about you @RamboRambo ?

@AndromedaSaysHi Berkeley! But LA is my top choice

I got an email informing me that I was off the waitlist!!! accepted for mechanical engineering, I already SIR’d to UCSB but I’m going to visit UCLA today to see if I want to change my decision. Both schools gave me almost identical financial aid packages

For those of you that were lucky enough to get off the waitlist, congratulations!! @perkyboii and @kokohpuffs did you do anything in particular to get off the waitlist?

I got off the waitlist today for physics/astrophysics.

@Perkyboii @AndroMedaSaysHi Congrats! Around what time did you guys find out?

@RamboRambo I got an email at 7:23 this morning

"Dear applicant,

A decision has been made regarding your application to UCLA. Please visit <a href=“UCLA myApplication Status”>https://www.admission.ucla.edu/MyApplication to view your decision.

Note that a response is required by 11:59 pm PDT on May 7, 2014.

Sincerely,

UCLA Undergraduate Admission"

Wow guys @perkyboii and @AndroMedaSaysHi, congratulations, that’s great news! :-bd So they’re even sending notices out on weekends. And congrats to you too @RamboRambo on Berkeley…pretty awesome as well! My daughter SIR’d to UCSD, which will be great, but LA is her top pick. So patiently waiting and hoping

I wonder if anyone from the other UCLA waitlist threads have heard anything in the last week? Let’s see…

So have any of you guys heard anything yet? @sillymichelleeee, @areegh, @Classof2018app, @JSKim3513, @Novulux, @dmoneybags, @kfresh26, @DeskFan, @mikmac, @milkyy, @Pandabiscuit, @conheo, @activism93, @campfireweekend, @lolita101 :-/

@tippytoe I got my name off the waitlist because I got into Pomona College. However, I know one of my classmates just got off the waitlist on May 1st for Comp sci

Congratulations @perkyboii and @AndromedaSaysHi! I’ll be curious @perkyboii about your final decision…UCLA or UCSB? My older son was in the same spot you are right now in 2012…he SIR’d to UCSB and then got accepted off the waitlist at UCLA. After touring UCLA one more time, he realized that he felt more at home at UCSB (claims the students are more “chill”). He loves UCSB and has not regretted his decision for a second! @tippytoe Good luck to your daughter! My younger son is also on the waitlist, so it’s groundhog day at our house right now. He has also SIR’d to UCSB (and he was accepted in to the Honors Program, which is a nice perk), but his very clear number choice is UCLA. So here we sit…and wait…and hope…

So many impressive schools… congrats on Pomona College @Classof2018app! Best of luck to you there. And thanks for your update

LOL @LNmomof2, groundhog day, yes! Good luck to your son too. Honors program is really nice, good for him. Whichever way it goes for us, I’ll be glad when we hear so we can focus on looking forward and stop checking emails all day

@tippytoe Yes, being glued to the computer all day is not fun, especially with the weather being so nice! (Love your emoticons, by the way!)

I really hope Cal starts admitting in-state students off its waitlist soon since, based on previous posts here and on Cal’s CC website, I really think that’s going to free-up some space for in-state freshmen at UCLA. From what I’ve read, Cal has never waitlisted in-state students before, but this year they’ve waitlisted about 2,200 (I think that’s how many opted in) while they actually admitted 828 fewer California students this year over last year.

@tippytoe thank you and np, glad to help!

@ForeverHope in the additional information section I added my first semester grades, which were all As @LNmomof2 it’s definitely a tough decision!!! when I finally decide I’ll give an update!!
