***OFFICIAL THREAD TO REPORT PROBLEMS OR MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT NEW CC SITE

Well, I haven’t visited here for awhile, but I see that things haven’t really improved since the big downgrade.

This thread is simply amazing. I’m sorry for you long-time, active community members. It must be very frustrating to repeatedly make helpful suggestions with almost no feedback. You’re the folks who put the value in this site, and yet it looks like you’re still being stonewalled.

Why?

It’s almost like CC has been sold to someone who has no idea of the spirit of CC.

Folks, we actually put a bunch of changes on hold pending our “March Madness” days. It’s too risky to push out new code the day before you hit peak traffic for the year. Things will stabilize in a week or so, and we’ll actually be putting out some changes.

Like…POST NUMBERS.??

^^… crickets …

There is no earthly reason why Roger Dooley couldn’t have given us a short list of the upcoming changes (which don’t actually exist). The fact that he didn’t speaks volumes.

Nothing has changed. We are being strung along, people. CC has nothing but contempt for us.

Oh good grief.

Here we go again with nebulous answers that don’t tell us anything.

Why is it so hard to answer a direct question? No one has ever addressed the many requests to update the site so that posters can see “at a glance” whether there are new posts in sub-forums. Is this one of the changes that you will make?

@roger_Dooley thanks for that brief update. Is it possible at all for you to give us a short list of what these intended changes may be?

I am trying to be understanding here. But Roger’s post doesn’t explain why the “updates” thread hasn’t been touched since March 13. No matter the March Madness demands on the system, we’re talking about 5 minutes to write something out.<br>
Roger, this is one reason folks are so testy. Some of the change/fix requests can seem arbitrary, sure. Or small potatoes. But posters have been asking for some communication.

I know college discussions aren’t the same as rocket science. Or re-engineering a forum. And that folks who don’t work in the tech world can’t always explain things. But the need to satisfy users is the same. I wouldn’t have said to my end-users, in essence, “just wait.”

I would say…well, what we have been asking for: here’s what we’re working on, here’s what is top priority or urgent to the operation, itself. And, of your requests, here is what we do recognize as important, though we cannot tell a target date. Think about it.

So what are all the mysterious changes and why the secrecy? Just spit it out and quit patting us on the head.

Feels like we’re just being strung along.

^^ We ARE being strung along, played for fools, however you want to say it. My guess is the water-cooler conversation at CC headquarters these days is something like “When do you think these chumps are going to catch on?”

Prediction: The post-March Madness upgrade – if there is one – will not include any of the things we’ve been requesting. And they will continue to pat us on the head.

Folks, they have no interest in our concerns or what we have to say.
Folks, they’re just going to continue to tell us to go enjoy our burnt cookie like good little children.
Folks, we are, indeed, being patted on the head.

Dear Roger, I honestly would’ve been fine if at the beginning you had just said “This is what we’re going to do now, deal with it.” I appreciate honesty. I think many are with me. It’s the fact that you’re treating us like 5 year olds who are incapable of seeing through BS that has sent many of us through the roof.

You have seen a drop-off in traffic. Everyone knows it. I hope y’all are happy with the “product” you’ve created in place of one that worked perfectly fine.

OH! And I’m getting logged off again. Same issue as before. (Including the log-off issue as that’s clearly the only thing anyone even pretends to care about)

I once again apologize to ML and the handful of other mods that have stuck around.

Have some of the mods jumped ship? Does anyone know?

I don’t think we’re consciously being treated like chumps. I think the top folks who generate occasional threads and write about admissions and all are unaware how much customer satisfaction depends on communication. It may not be something they’ve had to deal with, in their college advising worlds. I don’t think they’re at the water cooler, mocking. I do think they are looking at each other saying, WF?! When will this go away? Anyone know how to handle this? Thank G it’s Friday…* or the forum biz equivalent. (Maybe TG it’s after midnight on the west coast.) And I think it has been made discreetly clear that individual mods are trying to do what they can.

I think the problem lies with the vendor, not the CC folks.

^ I do agree. But the expectation is that “our” provider- ie, CC- will keep an info flow. Not all that different from ordinary life.

Btw, seems the usual March Madness posting is down-? Maybe just on the college threads I check.

CC HIRED the vendor. Are moody and company employees of the VENDOR? Iif so, why is Moody issuing invitations to CC “events”?

I have been diplomatic, and patient. This roll out happened two months ago. There will ALWAYS be some reason why this can’t be fixed. Next it will be because it’s too close to the May 1 matriculation decision date. Then it will be college graduations, then it will be orientation concerns, then move in dates, the fall application stuff, then ED deadlines, and so on.

I feel pandered to. I agree with others, if fixes were to be made, they would be done by now.

If anyone here is a chump, it’s the CC folks who hired this incompetent vendor, if, indeed, all these issues are the vendor’s fault.

ML, by “CC Folks” do you mean Roger and the like? If so, do they not have control over the vendor and whatnot?

(Serious question as everything seems so secretive… I don’t know how the layers work)

^Yes. I know they’ve asked the vendor to take care of items that haven’t been. I’m not sure what their options are at this point.

I wish they would just tell us that. Most of us have worked with uncooperative contractors (or whatever the correct term is). I think we’d have a lot more sympathy (I know I would).
