@mikemac, if that happens to you, please flag another post in the same thread (you might have to put up a post yourself, if the spam is the OP in the thread) and let us know you are actually reporting another post.
ML, I totally give you credit, and I did see that you are reporting it but there probably won’t be any action until Monday at least. The reason I suggested that oldmom start another thread is that she’s got some stuff going on right now and may not want to wait until the original thread reappears. Sorry if I stepped on toes. I know you’re doing what you can for us, and I appreciate it.
^Thanks, LasMa. I’m just getting a little testy about all of this…
I don’t blame you a bit.
Just letting you know…today is a “log out” date when I use my back arrow. This hasn’t happened for several days. And yes, I hit “remember me” on this device.
Aha! I’m not losing it:

The check boxes on top, regular thread things on the bottom.
^ I’m seeing that permanently on the Parent’s Cafe now, but no where else.
And now whole threads have been lost, but the ptb are trying to find them. Sounds a little bit like the Malaysian government’s botched handling of the lost airliner, doesn’t it? I wonder if “lost” threads give off cyber “pings”?
It’s ironic, because IIRC one of the excuses – sorry, one of the* reasons * – for the downgrade – sorry, * upgrade * – was to improve stability. I don’t recall the old site ever losing a thread. I’ve never heard of ANY site loading a thread. Incredible. But I’m going to be really really upset and sad if they can’t find the Parents Caring thread.
So a thread can disappear by “accident,” but PMs that are purposely deleted remain?

It’s back…but only though January 29th?
Doughill, posts are missing. …
I just do not like the new look - it’s cold and not as intimate as the previous look
It’s all back now.
Is there a way to merge the interim thread?
^I don’t believe so. I am asking about it.
Last year when I posted in such detail about my dad’s final illness and passing, it was partly catharsis, partly sharing with people who had helped me so much, partly hoping that someone else could take something helpful from my experience. But it was also for my own records. I didn’t journal during that time, or write letters, or otherwise record any of it. I was recently re-reading it and was surprised how much I’d already forgotten. I remember thinking that I was glad that these precious moments and feelings – and the comforting words of my support community – were in a safe permanent place where I could always go back to them. Guess I’d better get started printing out the thread.
MaineLonghorn, thanks for your help. The temp thread was merged into the original, now-returned thread.
Oh, good, oldmom, thanks for letting me know.
