There are still a couple of part timers, but no one who regularly checks for Reported posts. So get used to trolls, spam, etc. I know that Admin is looking for new Mods, so get ready for ‘the call’

Who are the admins? They sure have bailed on THIS thread! And the ones I know aren’t answering PMs either.
I haven’t received any threatening “be nice” messages lately either… the admins really have jumped ship.

Then this really is the beginning of the end. I’ve noticed many more political and religious discussions in threads, including posts that would have been removed in former times. So now we’ve learned that there is essentially very little moderation going on. I wonder how long before the end?
Who would agree to moderate? No pay, too much work, no help, insufficient tools. What’s the point?

Guess that’s what they want. I’m still mystified as to why. It makes no sense at all.
I can’t remember all the admin usernames, but the ones I checked in hadn’t checked in today. It’s a long holiday weekend, and so CC might have an influx of trolls this weekend. Admins away, no mods…it’s the perfect cyberstorm. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen! But I am wondering – are the NO POLITICS rules being relaxed? If there are no mods, then who is enforcing TOS?
I don’t know if anyone is reading post problems…or not. But a couple of threads are taking on the National Enquirer look. Lots of insults, lots of sniping back and forth, just BS.
Again, I will remind the higher ups at CC…the PR boards met their demise because of horrible or lack of moderation. The site became a very nasty one, with some really awful posters, and posts. People finally bailed left right and center. CC was the recipient of many PR defectors because CC was a CIVIL, well moderated site with good information.
I will say, if this trend continues on CC, I see the same thing happening. This will become a site for those who want to snipe, criticize, and be nasty. And the good information seekers and providers will go elsewhere.
Not sure where else we can go right now, but it certainly presents an opportunity for someone to start a new forum much like CC used to be in the early days.
CC as it is now is beginning to look like the unmoderated Comments section of my daily online newspaper :-w

Ah, yes, now I’ve read the main thread that demonstrates this. What I’ve noticed is that there are certain posters who always get rude posts from other posters. One in particular has two posters who always snipe at him, no matter where he posts or what he says. And then there’s another poster who has a gang of posters snipe at him whenever he posts about a certain topic. But this was going on before the Wild West CC era. I often wondered why it was allowed. Someone must be moderating, because just the other day an “old” thread was closed. So who is doing that?
As far as new message boards being started, that was started at least two times already when disgruntled posters flounced out of CC and started their own forums. Neither lasted, to my knowledge. Another board was started which still exists, but that was to discuss politics after that topic was forbidden here. Some threads there that mock posters here.
What the heck is THIS? I got it today using my back arrow (and yes, today I’m getting logged out…again).

Maybe you will be the next one to get unasked-for moderating powers, like romani!
It means you hit a bug in the code for the web page that was not properly handled. Typically this is because something happened that the developers did not anticipate, or it could just be sloppy coding.
Without more information it is impossible to say exactly what the issue is.
