From what I’ve heard, MBB consulting firms will require a transcript during the interview process (although generally an unofficial will suffice). Consulting firms, especially the super elite ones like MBB, are big on that kind of thing.

I did not get asked for an official transcript. I submitted a PDF of my unofficial transcript that I downloaded from my school’s registrar website. If there is an error, I would highlight it and include a note about what the correction will be, but I wouldn’t just make the correction and submit that; prior to getting it changed officially, that could be considered lying, and MBB would immediately eliminate you from consideration if they find out you lied.

Regarding an official transcript, I did not get far enough into the process to have them request one, but I haven’t heard of anyone needing to submit an official transcript.

I’m in the same position too. Unfortunately, I made the grave error of reporting the actual grade instead of the error on my transcript, so I don’t know. Has anyone received an offer at M/B/B and was asked official transcript upon employment.
