I didn't request my counsellor to send out any official transcripts. What should I do? I applied to UPenn, Cornell, Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Yale and a bunch of safeties.

She completed the Secondary School Report, but the wierd thing is that all my application status I know has official transcript recieved. Did she submit it along with the secondary school report?

^^Shouldn’t you be asking her that?

^
This.

But I believe transcripts can be attached to the Secondary School Report. When I added additional schools, my counselor told me that the transcript would automatically go along with my Common App. Check with your counselor to make sure, but it’s definitely possible for them to be submitted via Common App.

Most high schools will probably assume you need a transcript if they have any idea as to how the college process works; that’s a typical thing the counseling office does.

I did, but I go to an international school (in Toronto) and it’s my counsellor’s first year here and she is really busy! I already asked her, and she was rather ambigious and stressed.

I’m just wondering if anybody knows about the specifics of this. I’m also guessing that the university application status can’t be that wrong, right?

I also find it hard to believe that schools will physically send out potentially thousands of transcripts!

Most of them are submitted online. And schools go through a lot of paper anyway. Just think of colleges sending out tens of thousands of decision letters every year.

No. Every high school is different, so only your counselor knows.

If it says you’ve submitted something that you haven’t, they can’t in good faith hold the lateness of that portion of your application against you. You’re responsible for checking the status of your application and ensuring that everything is listed as submitted; they’re responsible for keeping that up-to-date and accurate.

Ok Thanks… I’ll assume the online status application is correct.

If they all say they have the transcript, then you have nothing to worry about.
