Official Transfer Thread for Cornell University Spring 2017

Thought I would start the thread for those who are planning to transfer into Cornell for Spring of 2017. I know I could definitely use some moral support and have a group of people to chat with about this process, so comment away!

Hey! I’m hoping to transfer to Cornell too! I don’t feel too confident of getting in, but it’s worth a try to apply! What will you be majoring in?

I’m going for ILR!

@hf1234 Can you post your stats? I am curious how everyone’s stats look for the spring semester. I am transferring for ILR too as a spring transfer.

My stats:
Community college: 3.75
Rec: Both should be amazing
Essays: Personally I think they’re pretty good and show my personality and drive well
EC:
40hr/ week at Prudential as financial advisor
Alpha beta gamma: Vice Pres.
Investment Club: Founder and Pres.
Volunteered at Philadelphia’s DNC
Volunteered to help raise donations for kids in need for city of Camden
Volunteered at special olympics
P/T job at Uniqlo for extra money to use
Organized and hosted Philadelphia’s largest Pokemon Go event with multiple sponsors to help us with beverage, snacks, etc

I wish I could do more, but there is a limited amount of hours in a week lol. This is also my last semester at community college and getting into cornell would mean a lot to me.

Hey quick question, does Cornell keep past applications? Or do I need to resend ACT scores and such?

Hey ya’ll. I went through the transfer process for fall 2016. Feel free to ask any questions and good luck!

@orangebanana ah that’s great were you admitted into the school ?

@hf1234 Yep!

@orangebanana How much do you weight do you think your high school grades hold? My college GPA is good but HS GPA stinks. I’m still deciding between ILR and SHA. Thanks!

@jgray30 I’m not sure. I think that people always like to see improvement. You’re fine!

anyone on here have a GT?

Hi there! Is there anyone go for college of human ecology?

Transferred from UMD -> Cornell ILR in the spring of 2016 and couldn’t be happier! Loved UMD, but LOVE Cornell. If anyone has any questions about Cornell/ILR, don’t hesitate to ask!

@Vctory yes! I’m so happy for you, I can’t wait to get the decision back!

anyone heard back yet?

I’m surprised this thread is not as popular as last years Spring Transfer thread… Does anyone know approximately what week acceptances and rejections go out? I applied for the college of Arts & Sciences.

I think having the thread pinned helped. From what I understand, some notices should be going out soon (it’s about 4 weeks from deadline), but I think CAS might be slower than other colleges at Cornell.

A few people who applied to CHE have heard back this past weekend, has anyone heard back today?

I applied to CHE but still haven’t heard back. Are they not sending out emails this year?

I think many will hear back tomorrow (last day before Thanksgiving break), if last year is anything to go off. Best of luck everyone!
