*Official Tufts ED II Class of 2018*

@Hhoang - Congratulations!! It’s great to know that you got a wonderful financial aid package. When did you submit your CSS and FAFSA? I’m really worried about mine. I sent both my FAFSA and CSS on February 1, and worst of all, my FAFSA hasn’t even been processed yet. My parents had to send their FAFSA signature via snail mail and that’s why it’s taking so long for my FAFSA to be processed. I guess I’ll receive my decision awfully late in the game :(

@Introvert96, I received mine on Monday. Glad to see that they do meet 100% need as promised.
Can’t wait until September…

@jeffarse - That’s great! Hope to see you on campus some day! Wish me luck. I’m getting really anxious. Just imagine how much it will hurt if I can’t get there just because of an inadequate financial aid package :(

@Introvert96 I am totally with you worrying about financial aid! Do you know when the latest they will send our packages is? An admissions officer told me when I was asking about ED2 in the fall that if it is unaffordable for you to go, there are ways to break the contract- but I really don’t want to have to do that!! Crossing fingers for a good enough package…

@introvert96 my application process was smooth and I submitted everything by late January. Don’t worry! I think you’ll receive it by Feb 28.
Oh I remember now, you guys can appeal!!

does anyone know the no of students deffered in ed??

Introvert 96,
I am accepted and Im sure Tufts gives you an estimate that is atleast close to what you can afford. From what I gather, I think I faced a few problems because I misrepresented Parents’ savings on the CSS. Naturally, as an international student, I had problems with certain nuanced notations notations on the CSS. But I don’t want to bring it up again because Im perfectly happy with where I stand now.
As long as you dont have such issues, there’s no need to worry. Good luck.

Okay, I had to create a CC account just for this thread. The amount of people who were/are in the same exact situation as me is uncanny.

I applied ED I to Cornell University (engineering), but was denied. Needless to say, I was devastated after having visited the campus and developed strong relationships with coaches and administrators at the school.

After finally recovering from the initial shock, I looked to Tufts and applied ED II (undecided as I’m starting to second guess my educational interests) and was accepted!

I look forward to seeing you all in the fall! I’m excited that so many of you are just like me!

For the RDs who want to know stats, I was rejected ED2. 730-750-770, no class rank given, strong private prep school not on East Coast, where my class had middle 50% SATs of 670-770 for each part and 35% of the class is National Merit Semi-Finalist, GPA 87/3.3 for the 3-year average, trended up to 91/3.7 for junior year, lots of APs, mostly 5s
