I'll start this off:

I live in Hong Kong, but go to boarding school in the UK,
Intending to major in Economics
Why Tufts? - Tufts has academics on par with Ivies, but without all the pretension, and Jumbos know how to party when the time is right!

Tufts2017

I know my test scores aren’t stellar, but here are my stats:
Major: undecided
UW GPA: 3.76
W GPA: 4.30 (extremely competitive high school, 180 students, we don’t rank)
Approximate class rank: top ~20% probably)
ACT: 31 superscored Yes, Tufts superscores BOTH SAT and ACT. I know these scores fall within Tufts’ 30-33 ACT range, but it’s just above the 25th percentile. I don’t know if this will hurt or whatever with the average being a 32)
Ethnicity: White, Jewish male
Potential Hook: I’m a pretty good musician, as you’ll see in my resume.

My essays were interesting. I worked extremely hard on them and I think they all give great insight into my personality and life situation.

I still haven’t been contacted about an interview (which really upsets me, btw).

Do you think I’m competitive? Or will they most likely just defer me to Regular Decision/deny me?

Oh, and my reason for applying is that Tufts is just so amazing and I feel I fit in so well there. I don’t want to go anywhere else :)

Can’t go wrong at Tufts!!!

No definitely not. Also, can we combine this into a hopeful thread/chance thread for ED? That’d be awesome.

Hey everybody!

I also hope to become a Jumbo on December 15th! fingers crossed. Glad to meet everyone and I wish you all the best.

My introduction:

 • I live in Massachusetts
 • Majors- Cog/Brain Sci + Community Health (Double Major)
 • Honestly, it’s the only school where I have been able to picture myself and I am so excited that I am already planning out potential first semester course schedules :P…of course, this will accelerate if I get in.

Hey everyone. Thought I’d join the discussion and throw my info into the mix. Hopeful as ever that December 15 (Ides of December? Ha-Ha…Terrible joke…) will be the day I am Jumbo-fied.

Hometown/School: I live in NY, NY and I attend a private school.
Major: English is where it’s at.
Why Tufts??? Haha, I’m absolutely bonkers for Tufts. Can’t imagine going anywhere else…I’d be hard pressed to list off some reasons why I don’t think Tufts is a good fit for me. I am just crazy for the school.

P.S. 33 days until decisions are out!

Oh yeah, to add to what I posted earlier:

I’m from Ohio (Tufts only had 7 kids from Ohio in the class of 2016, maybe this helps my cause? Haha)

Intender major: undecided, maybe engineering but goal is med school

Why Tufts? Oh gosh I can’t list all the reasons…everything about the place, my Why Tufts essay was this unique snippet about diversity.

Good luck to all you guys, I really hope we all see each other on the Hill next year!

theNDhopeful44, from what I have seen of your posts, you have a great chance of getting in! I wish you all the best, and hopefully we will see eachother next year!

Gosh this wait is killing me! Alumni interview this weekend- Any tips?

Hi guys! We’re all in the same boat! I am so happy to say that I’ve applied for ED I as well!
And I’ve got my interview with an alumnus TOMORROW. :open_mouth: How exciting.

I am from Cali, and intending to major in biochemistry for pre-med!!

…Where else but Tufts? The beautiful setting, charisma, prestige in academia without the cutthroat, I’ll-fight-you-to-the-death competition… Everybody seems so happy here. This is where I can embark on a path of self-discovery and find the perfect balance in daily life, from work and play to class size. Also a place where I can flaunt my dorkiness. :D

Thanks Guitarher0o7, I wish you great luck as well! I have my interview tomorrow with an alumna, hope it goes well!

So I just had my alumni interview, and it went SO WELL!!! Good luck to all you guys on your interviews (if you haven’t had them already).

-I live in Vermont and go to a private school.
-I intend to major in Economics with a minor in either Geology and Ocean studies or International Relations (Pretty strange combination).
-Why Tufts??? Aaaaahh just too many reasons! Academics, campus, location, diversity, and student body morale are all stellar! I just can’t see myself anywhere else and hope I don’t have to. Such an amazing place!
-Good luck to all of you ED1 hopefuls, hope to paint the great cannon with you next year !

19 days to go, good luck everyone!

I submitted my app on the 30th october, but am still yet to receive contact regarding an interview, anyone in the same position?

@sujanmohinani Hm…Headscratcher. I submitted my app October 29th and was able to exchange emails with my interviewer the following week or so. That absence of communication you’re experiencing sounds a little weird.

I’d email Admissions because I think (doubting my own word on this one) Interviewer “Reports” are due this Saturday the 1st of December. Since I’m no Admissions guru I have no idea but I wish I could help you more :(

I submitted my app really early- September 5th. I just wanted to get it out of the way and I didn’t get contacted for an interview until early November.

sujanmohinani… They will only contact you about an interview if there is an interviewer in your area. I submitted my app mid october and I was never contacted. I live in a pretty rural area so there was nobody near to interview me.

Sujanmohinani,

I agree with what everyone else is saying- I submitted my app. late October and I got an interview 2.5 weeks later, so if you haven’t received one yet, then it is because there are no interviewers near you or the local committee is overloaded.

Although it is too late for this, a way to confirm that this is the situation is to go onto TAMS and check your credentials- At the bottom of the page, the page tells you what TAAP Committee’s region you belong in. See if there is a contact you can try.

Best of luck!

15 days until we hear back! But who’s counting :)
