OFFICIAL Tufts University Class of 2014 RD Applicants

i did a video and was waitlisted. i don’t think the video had that much influence but probably the variety of other factors.

ACCEPTED!!! I’m really glad because all my safety and target school applications were successful!! I got into Tufts, Boston College, Boston University and Northeastern (the last 3 accepted me at honors program!!)
I hope this is a good indicator for the ivy’s!! I guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow!

Accepted, so far tufts is definitely my top choice. Still have to wait till tomorrow to see for the rest of the colleges that i applied to make my final choice, but Tufts is definitely awesome.

As for the optional essay I wrote the are we alone one. I compared the choice of belief in alternate forms of life to Pascal’s Wager ([Pascal’s Wager - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Pascal's wager - Wikipedia)) . Fun essay to write.

otherwise good sats, amazing bio teacher, decent gpa, hard math/science classes.

Son got in. He did the optional essay imagining if the US had lost at Yorktown. He did it as a series of excerpts from newspapers, ending with the announcement of an upcoming article by himself imagining the history of the US if we had won at Yorktown. I thought it was pretty clever. He also wrote a very nice and short “Why Tufts” answer. Kept to the suggested 50 words.

Violingirl, that’s a small crane! My son makes origami earrings, but I don’t think he’s ever started with a piece of paper smaller than 1.5" or so.

Waitlisted…ugh.

Just curious, what’s the chances of getting in on a waitlist?

Congrats to everybody else though

rejected :frowning:
I did a YouTube video btw I sang in it.
It’s weird though cause I got into Cornell but not tufts? Oh wellsies

^^In our school district Tufts has proven to be harder to get into than Cornell for several years.

it’s like my school and Brown University. They hate us! People from my school get into every ivy except brown

<<<it’s weird=“” though=“” cause=“” i=“” got=“” into=“” cornell=“” but=“” not=“” tufts?=“” oh=“” wellsies=“”>>></it’s>

It is interesting because, in these parts, it is easier to get into Cornell than Tufts, which I think has to do with the superabundance of California applicants to Tufts. I think the class of 2014 has 400+ admitted applicants from California, alone.

As well, from my daughter’s high school, kids get into all the Ivy leagues save for Dartmouth. Few and far between for Dartmouth.

Congrats to all the acceptees, and I know that for the kids who didn’t get into Tufts, there is definitely a match and happiness to be found elsewhere. And Tufts, like everywhere else, does take kids off of the waitlist.

Rejected. :(

Accepted!!
I was in a bagel shop in Manhattan counting down the minutes until 3, and when it was time, I went on TAMS saw congratulations and cried for 10 minutes.
The funny part is that no one even looked at me.
I love new york and TUFTS!!!

WCASparent: I actually retook my SATs, and received a higher score which I will not discuss as it is now a moot point. I do, however, appreciate the fact that you took the liberty to publicly post my previous scores without my consent in an effort to chastise me. While I am upset about the decision and my comment was made in haste, perhaps you should have addressed your grievance in a private message as opposed to open forum.

These are simply my feelings, and I see where I have erred with my hotheaded remark. Best of luck to you as well, I will likely be attending UVA depending on the ivies.

I got in too and I still can’t believe it!!!

Got into Tufts! When will our financial aid package come out?

i dont know, but im glad you havent heard yet, i was getting kinda worried that i might not have gotten one :)

“WOWWWW waitlisted, it looks like I’ve come down with a SEVERE case of tufts syndrome. Good riddance.”

OR maybe you just suck. Tufts doesn’t like arrogant fools. Have fun with Ivy rejection letters tomorrow.

He apologized for his comment, relax @Forkingjamie…everyone is upset when they’re waitlisted or rejected.

Is Tufts need-blind with its admission process?

I’ve had three waitlists in a row, so hopefully others can understand my initial feelings after reading tufts’, a school I was seriously considering to attend. And if you so desire, I can PM my ivy results to anyone who asks for them tomorrow afternoon.

Good day to all, congrats to those accepted.

accepted!

Tufts and UChicago (got in EA) were my top choices, rej. from Swarthmore, Georgetown, waitlisted at Carleton and Bowdoin, (<–not devastated or shocked by any of these) got some $$$ from my state flagship.
