General Comments: So angry right now

Wow, I hate to be rude or anything, but I am surprised you were accepted undertaker1664, over so many strong applicants. I understand that is really rude to say it is just that your scores (especially the ACT) are so far below the average. I’m just generally angry so sorry if that is really mean, I don’t mean it that way, I am just saying it is quite surprising

Undertaker1664 is a ■■■■■. (You can check out his comments on other threads.) Just ignore him.

IDK if Tulane is a good enough school for me though. Maybe I should visit!"

I do have to admit though, it is kind of funny. Obviously someone with those stats (83 or whatever GPA and 26 ACT) has a nil chance of getting in.

Tufts is a difficult school to get into. I recall one of my friends who applied to Tufts ED. He got in, but he had SAT of like 2250-2300. Was Valedictorian of a graduating class of 700. Took 11 AP’s in high school. Did well on the exams. Recs were amazing. One of his essays made the judges cry in a competition he entered it in (it was unique, to say the least), he had good leadership positions, had played piano since he was 4, did over 500 community service hours (and was a distinguished service graduate because of it), and was a nationally competitive debater.

So again, don’t feel bad. Although that’s a anecdotal, it does show that Tufts is competitive. Best of luck to everyone in their future college endeavors.

D1 was accepted. Her application was generally strong except for her GPA, though that was in the context of a highly demanding high school. The rest of her app must have made up for it.

Ajax, what you wrote at the end of your post was what I’d been preparing myself to write if I was posting about a rejection. You have a wonderful record and attitude, and I’m sure you’ll end up somewhere great. Best wishes to you and to anyone else not getting happy news today. It’ll be there in the next few months.

You got me! LOL I didn’t even apply to tufts

Congrats on the admits! And for the rejects, I’m sure you will end up somewhere great, learn great knowledge, and most of all, have fun. Farewell

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: have no ****ing idea. I’m SOOO excited and surprised. Tufts usually does NOT accept people outside of the top 10% and I go to an okay high school, but certainly not the best by any measure.
The stats for some of these kids are crazyyyyyyyy.

@ajax: Yeah, we found that out later in the day… he didn’t get in. /: He has similar stats to me, but a little bit stronger and a few more EC leadership positions. He also had unbelieveable essays. Insane. Standford hasn’t accepted anyone from our high school in four years, and that kid turned them down (also turned down a FULL RIDE to Cal Tech) in favor of MIT.

@1012mom: I have! Thank you. I posted on their facebook wall, but I guess they didn’t see it or just don’t really check the “posts from others.”

By the way, I visited Tufts with Cornell as my top choice and left with Tufts as my top choice. I definitely suggest visiting to anyone thinking about Tufts. I LOVE the area and I felt safe yet close enough to Boston that I can get in easily for concerts, food, and parties at BU/BC. People at Tufts seem upbeat and hardworking, but not as I’ll-fight-you-to-the-death competitive as the Ivies.
