ok luckie: I PM’ed you but you chose not to answer (or you didn’t get it)…on the personal app is a statement that you were supposed to sign to state that you wanted SCEA…did you or did you not sign it when you submitted in October?

haha thanks jym :/

rodney, i just found my printed out app. while it does say regular decision in one of the middle pages, i did sign the certification thing on the very last page saying that i would expect a decision as soon as they received my test scores.

^^sent you a PM…let us know how it goes…

The last thing on the application I am looking at is a certification that you are applying SCEA…is that what you signed? Or did you apply with a different application?

will do :)

I just got my aid award. $42k of the ~$57k are covered by need/merit aid. Definitely affordable.

I just realized how hard of a choice I’m going to have. I have a full ride to Truman, a very generous package to Tulane, and I just got a likely letter for UVA and I’m expecting pretty good aid since I’m a QuestBridge Finalist. I am still waiting for 12.5 (the .5 comes from UVA not officially accepting me yet lol) decisions and I’m already having trouble. This is going to be a very hard choice.

If Tulane has already filled its class of 2015, why don’t they either waitlist or reject the rest of the applicants? I guess I just don’t understand why their admissions decisions are being released in a trickle.

@fallenangel did you receive your award offer in the mail?

Does anyone know if it’s true that they filled up the class of 2015? I’ve been waiting for the decision because I figured I’d weigh my options. But if there’s a good chance I’m waiting for nothing, I rather be putting a deposit elsewhere and getting good housing and what not.

@allnycolleges - I got an email about it, and it was on my Gibson portal.

Anyone else got financial aid information? We’ve not heard.

yummymusic 2: I know a kid who just got accepted a couple of days ago, fwiw. Not trying to get your hopes up; just thought you should know that a few acceptances are still trickling out. From what I understand, the young man did write an e-mail to his Adcomm rep reiterating his interest in Tulane. He also had a slam dunk in the mid-year grade report, so that probably helped too. Good luck!

YEAH!!! Pretty cream envelope with nice acceptance letter from Tulane came in yesterday!! We love you Tulane!!! No fin aid yet, though…

gwensmom, I just got my financial aid email two days ago.

I had a 22k merit scholarship, but I was hoping for some more grants. Sadly, nothing but loans and work studies. Will not be attending Tulane :(

Tulane’s amount of applicants dropped 13.36 % this year…a ray of hope :)

I guess Tulane is joining the ranks of the admissions departments suffering from technical glitches.

DD received rejection letter last week and today received an apology email and an offer to accept a position on the waitlist. Did this happen to anyone else?

Also, when DD applied EA in October her Gibson account indicated her application was complete and under review and then 2 weeks later it indicated her counselor recommendation was missing. At the time we thought they are processing so many applications some documents get misplaced and just had the counselor resend the missing form. However, by the time the situation was rectified she was deferred to RD from the EA pool. Then comes the rejection letter and now the waitlist offer.

Why does this happen? Maybe they should charge an application fee and hire some more office staff!!!

YoungAmerican

That is just awful. I hope the first Tulane glitch with the counselor recommendation does not ultimately hurt your daughter’s chances of admission. I guess the change from rejection to wait list is better than taking back an acceptance (see Delaware thread)! Still, I know how uncomfortable this time of uncertainty can be. The roller coaster ride created by this latest glitch was certainly not necessary. Maybe they due need more admission staff.

In any case, I am sure your daughter will be just fine in spite of any additional waiting or discomfort this has caused. There’s a great school for everyone! Hang in there.
