LOL, it makes you sound like a gambler because you are (were?). That was rather risky I have to agree, but I guess it worked for you.

My application was complete by October 27th and I still haven’t heard a decision… I’m really scared I thought I had a decent chance, my grades and gpa aren’t as stellar as some of the people on here but I thought I could get in, especially because it’s my number 1 school so I tried to express a lot of interest in it. I’m freaking out now what everyone is saying is making me think I must have been denied or deferred. I legitimately do not know what I will do if I do not get into this school I want to go there so bad why is it taking so long?

Hang in there and don’t lost hope. Your application has been complete for just a little more than three weeks. While this may seem like a long time, especially in light of some of the quick turnaround described here, it really isn’t. Longer wait times at other EA schools, appear to me at least, to be so much longer on average.

daisydaze - Do you mean your application shows complete on the Gibson account or just that you sent it in then? Even if it showed complete on Gibson then, twoby2013 is right, 3 weeks is not that long. As we have said a number of times on here, you might be borderline as a candidate, or it might just be that you are borderline for which merit award they want to offer and the admissions committee needs to decide. I have also seen many cases where the student accidentally marked their app RD instead of EA. Hard to say, but you can certainly write your admissions counselor and make sure everything is in order and that it was marked EA.

Yes it was complete 3 and a half weeks ago. I thought I had a pretty good chance but I am having doubts now. I guess all I can do is wait but I’ve lost quite a bit of hope in trying not to be so surprised if it comes back denied, it’s just I was so set on going there :’( I think I’ll email my adco to make sure there isn’t an issue. I’ll let you all know when my official decision is posted…

We wake up every morning to check Gibson, for an update. We are so happy today to see the words “Congratulations! You have been admitted and welcome to the Tulane family.”

Soooo excited for the Tulane’s acceptance! My S sent his app in two weeks ago exactly and everything was complete within a few days. I am thinking because we are in the midwest and there are not as many applications that helped in getting admittance processed so quickly.

My S had a 33 ACT and great everything else! We are all so excited!

Well, that’s a relative thing. Compared to Harvard? Yes. Compared to the national average or even most other schools? Not at all. Tulane is considered highly selective and accepts about 25% of applicants. That is not considered a high percentage. Since they get about 40,000 applications every year now, they are turning down 30,000 students.

You cannot go by CC as an indication of the general picture. People that use CC tend to be the upper end of the student/parent world, either educationally, economically, or most often both.

I just got back from taking my senior pictures in New Orleans. I took some of them on St. Charles Avenue, and when we walked by Tulane, I couldn’t help but smile. It’s so beautiful.

I’m entirely nervous about my application. After having unexpected surgery and rushing in my application afterwards, I can’t exactly say I did my best to represent my best. More than likely denied/referred for regular.

D accepted —submitted EA about 2 weeks ago? Presidential Scholar scholarship and invitation to the Honors program.
ACT 33

Will have taken 5 by end of senior year.
