Official UC admission rates Fall 2011

<p>All UCs accepted more students except UCSD and UCR. Riverside’s acceptance rate dropped below UCSC’s. I found this quite interesting.</p>

<p>I’m quite surprised at how much UCLA’s shot up.</p>

<p>Year to year variation is pretty meaningless. Interesting, though.</p>

<p>Take into account that UC’s had a lot more OOS applicants and accepted more OOS applicants compared to previous years due to the budget crisis… that’s probably the only reason I believe it shot up.</p>

<p>actually, after I examined the data it’s clear that it only rose up because there were a lot more applicants in general. Around 2000 more applicants and around 2000 more accepted. So it’s still kind of same compared to previous years in that sense… just still take into account more OOS kids.</p>

<p>According to the LA Times, 18.1% of UC admittees were OOS. 2010 it was 14% and 2009 it was 11%. Wonder what the admissions rate is for OOS vs in-state now.</p>
