*** official uc davis 2022 waitlist**

Noticed that there isn’t a thread for this already! Is anyone on the UC Davis waitlist and accepting that position? Has anyone on this forum successfully gotten off the waitlist and into Davis and how did they do so?
Post your stats, and majors, if you are in either oos or is, good/ bad essays ?

I was waitlisted and plan to accept the offer.

My first post on this forum (hello all!) is to say: I’m utterly heartbroken that I was waitlisted from Davis. I really thought I had a fighting chance, and though it’s respectful to be the bigger person, I wish I knew the reason that so many in my chosen major were admitted with lower stats.

But here were are.

In state
Major: Economics
UC GPA: 4.17?
ACT: 34
Extracurriculars: Stellar, if I do say so myself.
Essays: Hopefully, excellent. Went through a multitude of drafts with peers, teachers, and professors. My writing in itself is usually quite good, all honors and AP English courses with A grades, and several essay contests won.

Alas, it sounds like I’m fluffing my own feathers. But, I really did think I’d be relatively attractive to what’s considered a mid-tier UC. Good luck to us all, eh?

Waitlist for Communications :frowning:
I am accepting the waitlist offer.

UC GPA: 3.86 w
ACT: 28 (with a perfect 36 in reading)
Essays and EC’s; I would say really great plus I went over my essays with a fam friend who did admissions for Berkeley.
in state, first gen

Kinda bummed but kinda not, its weird feeling. AT LEAST WE WERE NOT REJECTED. good luck to you all

UC GPA:4.04
SAT:1410
Major: Cell Biology
In-state

UC GPA: 4.0
ACT: 34
Major: undeclared but probably Music or Digital Media
In-state and top 9% (we probably all fall into that category)

Will wait to accept WL offer until decisions coming out next week for UCLA (complete reach) UCSC, followed by UCSB.

Does anyone know how to find out “for sure” that you fall into the statewide 9%? And if you do, when do they offer you alternate admission?

Major: Cognitive Science
UC gpa: 4.1
Uw gpa: 3.8
SAT: 1500

Most likely will not accept WL offer because accepted in CP SLO.

@CaliKenMom: If an applicant is ELC eligible by HS, it would be stated on the UC application. If you are ECS eligible (Statewide) you can use this link for the calculation for the UC score.

http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/index.html

ELC/ECS eligible applicants that do not get into their choice UC will have their application automatically forwarded to UC Merced and if spots are available, then the applicant will be notified. This is usually Mid-April.

ELC on the UC application is for sure, but the UC score for ECS is posted by some UC’s on their student portals. I know UCR used to have it there.

Thanks! April is better than May … except UCM doesn’t have her major.

Yes, the calculator is on the UC admissions page http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/index.html

we should have all been accepted?? Do yall think that they waitlisted us because they think we will get into the other UC schools??

@coolgirl3, it’s certainly nice to think that way. It was disheartening to know some peers of mine, with far lower stats, ECs, and dare I say, writing prowess, were able to get in. It may have to do with the major a good deal as well.

If you work hard on writing the waitlist essay trust me you have a really good chance of getting in. I know few people who got in last year.

@Seemas, I’m not particularly fond of being put on the waitlist. Davis was my second choice, but if they really didn’t think I was up to par to the other admitted students in my major, I would have preferred to have been rejected outright. I’ll take my chances with the other schools I’ve applied to, equally good in merit. I just don’t want to SIR elsewhere and submit a nonrefundable deposit, only to lose the time, effort, and resources I’ve invested in, and register at a school that put me on the sidelines.

Call it an inflated ego, but I would rather invest in a school that invested in me equally. I know you don’t HAVE to accept an offer from a school that waitlisted you, but I’m unsure if I’d want to go that route, even if I was taken off the waitlist. I am planning on accepting the waitlist offer anyhow, just to see if I’d be accepted.
